  1. Dark sleepers, wobble heads, heavy Hula Grubs. Kinda Of A Drag……..
  2. Pay attention to this model. Leader in west coast tournament scene sees an opportunity to apply his expertise and design bass rods that fit his vision. That vision is realized with ups and downs but his word is gold. He became a business man and created a promotional model based on trust and relationships. He reaches the retirement age and overcomes physical issues and sells his business and his name and reputation. The buyer doesn’t care about the morals or values of that seller. Relationships are severed without a thank you. The promises it will be business as usual are broken by the new owner. Dealers are dropped, pro staffers are dumped. trust and relationships are a hard thing to waste. Glenn’s right. Time to move on.
  3. Rubber flares and maintains its bulk regardless of water temp. The strands move even after the jig stops. The mere water movement of a bass swimming up to the jigs will cause the strands to move. Can you get the broad color schemes? No. That’s okay. I fish Sieberts LR jigs in the Flippin jig, football style head and the Sniper jig. If I want some metal flake, I get it in the trailer. One last thing, LR must be wire tied to get max action.
  4. Just make sure there’s nothing on the hardware named Abby Normall. You’ll do great!!
  5. Three reels that are really nice are the Marivel, Fuego and Caldia. Another consideration are the Scheels exclusive label reels. They are Daiwa products but at a lesser retail price.
  6. I also picked up the Leydun baits in both sizes. I replaced the rear trebles with feathered and finding a size 10 feathered was not easy. I’ve found a number of hard and soft baits on that site that perform extremely well and some that did not.
  7. What river? For some reason my region’s Smallie’s react really well to three colors. Green Ugly Yamamoto 176 Buzzard Puke( double dipped blue inside and coffee brown outside ) Anything 3 to 4 inches works. The Columbia is 226 miles from the mouth to McNary dam. About 196 miles has smallmouth.
  8. All I have in my shadow boxes are shadows. Nice display!
  9. Ducks are tough right now. Ohio State is typical Ohio State , strong and fast. Mario Cristobal has done wonders at Miami.
  10. I love that old Crosby Stills Nash and Young song. I put casting friendly combos for my grand kids. A little shorter moderate action rods. I fitted them with 12 and 14 mono because it comes off the spool nicely. All three 12, 12 and 15 yoa are casting really well. Good distance and accuracy. I’m so proud of them. But the best lesson taught was how to remove a back lash. Yup, you back lash, you remove it. I showed them the tried and true method where you lock down the drag and reel against firm thumb pressure to press the loops the opposite way and gently pull and repeat as needed. So I hear, Papa I gotta back lash. No wait. Papa I got it out. I love that as much as, Papa, I’m hooked in the weeds. No it’s a fish! Teach your children/ grand children well.
  11. I’m willing to send my reels 3000 miles to have Mike service my reels.
  12. I have one. How do you like the “regular” action?
  13. A buddy found this. The video depicted was made in 1981. I owned a copy. I also have the Fenwick flipping stick depicted. This is Flippin at it’s pinnacle.
  14. One of the attributes found in Daiwa casting reel was how you felt connected through the gear train. The newer models really do a great job of providing that feel while smoothing out that feel.
  15. When there’s six inches of snow I don’t drive my wife’s Camry. I drive my RAM with 4 wheel drive.
  16. We’re not supposed to run over kayaks. I don’t see the problem.
  17. You know I don’t purchase three quarters of my tackle to use on the water. I just get it so I can post it on show off your stuff. It gives me a dopamine hit, so I’ve got that going for me.
  18. Des and I have the same PB largemouths.
  19. Yah yah, you betcha by Golly!! Dat vun right dare Issa vooden pecker tooo. Daiwa SV 103.
