  1. I have to say 12 because it means I’m probably fishing a crankbait, which is nice.
  2. I’ll call your bad tooth and raise you a kidney stone.
  3. Simple, Spartan, clean build. I’m all for the minimalist look. No painted blanks. Those days are long gone.
  4. This is me.???
  5. Someone just needs to post the predictable sales calendar. FWIW, the recent Daiwa Elite sale seemed to include signature models of pros who moved to another brand. Also, the Dobyns COVID sale was a reaction to the possibility orders for product would stop but in reality did not. It was more of an asset liquidation rather than a sale. You won’t see that one again. It’s all business. I have noted a pattern in which a new product is hyped, introduced, sells below expectation and then can be found on sale frequently. Can you say Chick Magnet?!
  6. Dry Creek. They three colors that work really well in my region.
  7. There is a name that has been cemented in history.
  8. As said, treat people the way you would want to be treated in the same or similar circumstances. Being a giver is a good thing.
  9. If I was his client, I would have given him a tip. Don’t eat the nutra-loaf while you’re in jail.
  10. Where are the spinning ??
  11. I take all reviews with the proverbial grain of salt. The “user” doing the ratings has far too many unknown variables and or motives for me to take them at face value. Members here more often than not share the actual experience and context with their opinion. At least that’s provides credibility. Don’t rate a product you don’t own nor use.
  12. The low tonight will be 19 degrees. I have time to think on it.?
  13. All the baits mentioned are in play plus under spins AND, both are surprisingly good with crankbaits in the 1/4 to 1/2 ounce range. My experience with durability has been great.
  14. Anglers, especially pros with specific preference in lengths drive the demand . If they don’t sell they get dropped. Gary Dobyns added 6-3 rods due to an apparent demand from anglers in the mid west. He was hesitant but designed And built them. They sold poorly and were phased out. What about nine foot cranking rods? A perceived market that went no where. I have two rods under seven feet. Both are jerkbait rods where the tip is worked close to the surface. That’s practical. They sell.
  15. Point taken. Flippin/Punchin come in a 5 or 6 power. Thank you.
  16. Dobyns has become so comprehensive in the models and series that it creates question or even confusion. I read a detailed article several years ago by Gary and his explanation to your question. Dobyns provides four basic rod categories, Standard. Crankbait, Swimbait and Light(crappie, panfish, trout, and other non bass species) categories. Each category has it’s own specific “power” rating. This rating range is specific to the category because the actions are somewhat specific to the category. Gary stated not to confuse a crankbait power with the standard rods category power. They have different inherent actions. The designation of power numbers is the result of the early years with Lamiglas who used power ratings for their bass series. So what does that mean???? Look first at the category before considering the power. Look at the line and lure rating for the stated power rating. Take the lure weight range and the middle of the range will be the “sweet spot” for that model . Finally, consider the stated action. Like all manufactures, actions may vary slightly between series. An example is the actions in the Sierra series are slower than the Kaden and Champion series. Apply this and selecting a category, series and power will become less confusing. I hope this helps.

    Howdy!
  18. He’s a professional in the best sense of the word. Loyal to his sponsors and the people who helped him reach his goals. He advocated tackle that was effective and affordable. Cocky? I don’t think so. Very confident. He’s not going anywhere. He’s been a great spokesperson for bass fishing. He deserves his accolades.
  19. For me it’s when the water temp hits 60 or so. I also run a toad over a skirt. Have a follow up bait at arms reach.
  20. Gotta love it!!
