I didnt know there was a law about senkos and rods.. I have thrown them on my 15' 5" light action steelhead rod and I Do just as good. Tell me out of curousity? Why is a rod too long???

7 Foot st. Croix premier with a shimano sonora spinning reel spooled with 6lb test pline Fluorocarbon (Not fluoroclear). I am pretty simalar to RW, I love using lighter line. But his stuff is a lot nicer! ;D

Anyone have an experience with the TD fuego?? I was tinkering with it at cabelas and was really impressed.. Thats next on the tackle agenda just wanted to see how everyone liked it..

Got out for the first time in almost 4 months due to trout fishing over taking my life. Since the river was muddied and couldnt fish for trout decided to ventrue to a local pond. When I arrived the pond was up about a foot and really stained. I threw a dark strike king series one crankbait. Within 10 minutes a bass inhales it. I quickly landed a nice solid 14" bass which was really dark. Threw on a rattle trap with no takers and a jig with no takers. Soon it was time to leave but I left happy because catching one bass was way over my expectation.. I forgot how exciting bass fishing was! I will be out hunting them again wednesday!

I use a 7ft. heavy action falcon flippin stick... With 30lb power pro braid.. I actually had a break off too.. I couldnt believe it.

In the river I drift something called a trout worm... Its sort of like a robo worm or a drop shot worm... Just place it on a small hook, and put it under a float.. No bait needed.. White, black, and pink are pretty good colors to use..

The fish got caught up in the current so it was about an 8 minute fight... I would say a 4lb steelhead would fight 3* harder then a 4lb bass

Took in on an olive jig tipped with a few maggots... Amazing how such a big species of fish falls for maggots. 8-)

Have not got around to posting this... Got out on new years day and caught a few steelhead. Heres not only the first one of the year, but it was also the biggest of the season... 31.5" probally upwards of 13-14 pounds... Enjoy!

You would be correct! Its just 2 pike, a smaller pike with its head in the bigger pikes gills.. There was a big discussion about this on another board.

Thats a nice schedule... Mosquito lake is my home lake... Boy was that a tough lake to figure out, but once you do it produces pretty well... We fished for 10 grand there last year and did terrible.. That lake is the biggest dink fest in ohio IMO though...

You should have titled the thread best present bass angler.. I am sorry but I am willing to be the best present angler is not a bass pro... He might not have the best stuff, equipment, or a nice boat... But you will know it when you see him or her.

People catch steelhead every once in a while in ohio on them... They are usually fishing for suckers...

I know someone who pulled one out of an ohio trib last year... No they are not stocked in Ohio, they said it was a stragler fish from PA...

YUCK! Where I come from they taste like absolute garbage.... Which isnt a bad thing because it shys a lot of the meat hunters away... If steelhead tasted like salmon I would be a very very fat man.... ;D
