  1. Bass fishing is just the off season of steelhead fishing.... I actually enjoy targeting everything, but also enjoy fishing bass tournaments too.
  2. Tubes, Jigs, Shakey heads... Hell anything works, if they dont want it tick them off.
  3. Sounds like a blast Guys and gals! Really sounds like a break from the Ohio weather... But I am happy where I am, anyone ever near cleveland... Then we will talk.
  4. Maybe he was trying to be fashionably late??? ;D Just kidding, I would give him no more then 5 minutes, and if he was not on time then I would call them and tell them sorry about your luck.
  5. I am with LBH on this one I love fishing with a steady snow fall and the people looking on saying dang that person is crazy. Let them believe fish do not bite in winter.
  6. Dead sticking is a really deadly technique, but the only time I do it is in tournaments. Its a great technique but I tend to gut hook a ton of fish doing it. Senkos, tubes, and jigs
  7. Ice fishing is a blast but if your ponds do not freeze over I would suggest a suspending jerk bait with some long pauses.
  8. Get a palm sized live bluegill and use it for bait, it will go after it and make your heart drop.
  9. There is a house by our local river that is going for $2 million dollars. I would love to live there and fish for smallies in the summer and steelhead trout in the fall-spring. ;D
  10. Early morning bugs, skiers, swimmers, hunger, and lack of sleep.... All of these happen to me on any given tournament!
  11. Someone weighed a smallie at our tourney and it was 22", only weighed 2.5lbs... Very skinny It depends it can be a very fat fish and be up to 6lbs... Or a skinny fish and be like 2-3lbs.
  12. Dream sponser? Allready have it. 8-) As other sponsers I would like, I would say ranger, st. croix, shimano, or quantum.... As for sponsers I would not want, I would take what I could get. If Vi agra (why didnt that come out with out the space I dont know) or any other company like that told me they would pay for my tournaments but I have to have Vi agra on the side of my boat in big bold letters I would be all for it...
  13. Solid Black, motor oil, peanut butter and jelly, watermelon with red flake, and thats all.
  14. These are all really cool stories, this was a great thread. Ah yes, this isnt the big one that got away or anything but I was fishing a lake in ohio called mosquito lake. I was using a crawler harness for walleye and I had a kink in my line and probally broke off 50 feet of line, about an hour later I snagged the line, and there was a fish on the end of it. To bad it was perch. But still cool. 8-)
  15. Whats your favorite plastic on a shakey head? I am planning on using zoom finese worms and robo worms.
  16. This was all over all the boards I am a member of, and it was on tv, and it was in bassmaster magazine. Well where I come from its not considered snagging if you dont do it intentionally at least he was honest.
  17. I fish with a lot of new people probally upwards of 20 this year, most are friends, but have met a lot of people around me on fishign froums.
  18. Well I have heard that the bass can see your line but they are just not line shy. I fish for steelhead trout up here and you are not using fluorocarbon then you are usually not going to catch one. I think fluoro has a time and a place for bass but its really not necessary.
  19. Thats a great accomplishment, I thought I had a big start boy you sure on the right track.
  20. Most of the times when I am fishing senkos succesfully, there is vegatation or brush in the relative area. Try fishing by some of that stuff and you might find success with it.
  21. In a tournament we fished, we used 5" senkos in the morning. We caught 18 bass in the first 4 hours, and 11 were below 12". So there ya go, I have also caught 4-5 pounders on them. And I have pulled many bluegills, and a few crappies on them too.
  22. Well! From ohio theres not that many big bass. Id first off consider any bass that kept (tournament wise) a good bass. But in a lot of tournaments up here 3lbs is big bass. I would say 3lbs- Good basss 5-7lbs- Great bass 7lbs+ Call the press My biggest is only 5.5 theres not that many big fish up here.
