  1. yeah, that's a little bit cheaper of an option for a similar type of bait to what Quinn was using. Micro, does it have the same sort of action that a 3 or 4 segment swimbait would have? I would think that with less hinges, there would be less S-like swim action.
  2. What do you mean? they are posing with them right here: ;D
  3. No, he wasn't. The one he was using had a transparent tail like the Reaction Strike. Also, the one he was using had 3 jointed segments, the Tru Tungsten has 4 segments. I just watched the episode on my DVR again, it is definitely the Reaction Strike
  4. Congrats, glad you had a safe trip.
  5. Yup, that's the one.
  6. Not unless that is a new arrangement. I've seen YZ US at Gander Mountains up until the beginning of this month... For a recommendation, I have found Silver Thread (regular and Excalibur ) to be pretty similar to YZ US.

My brother got all 6, I got 3 but I think it has to do with the positioning of the words also.
  9. That was hilarious! Why didn't the employees grab them though? That would have been funny to see one of the gar or muskies they keep in those tanks take a chunk outta one of them.
  10. I like your reasoning, Glenn. It makes perfect sense
  11. I like it, but I like Turbodog better. Have you had Abita Bock? I thought it was pretty darn good.
  12. The difference between and ugly stik and say, a Loomis is that you will detect more bites with the loomis. It's an added advantage to catch fish, it DOES help you catch more fish, but the question is how many, and at what price? If you can answer those questions, you can determine if you can justify the purchase. It is not a necessity, it is a advantage.
  13. I fish areas that are more suburban than urban but I've had people walk past me and say to each other or to someone on the phone "There's somebody fishing at so and so, it's disgusting" or they ask me "Have you caught anything but trash out of there?" All that makes it even better when I pull out a fish right in front of them.

  16. I would expect at least a week for it to go back down, and that is only if it actually STOPS raining It could be more like two weeks depending how much rain the region that drains into the Rapp actually did get...
  17. Didn't they solve most of the Red ring problems? Considering how many XBOXs have been sold (way more than Wii and PS3) the proportion of broken consoles doesn't seem too high. I really don't think this is as large of a problem as many think it is, especially anymore. Also, don't discount Microsoft as a company, there is a reason why their console has outsold all the others, and that is because it is a good product. I would come down to this, if you like kid type games, get a Wii, if you play games for older people (Call of Duty, Gears of War, Halo3, etc..) go for a 360. Although I agree that PC is the best gaming method, if you are trying to game with people (family, friends) in the same room, a PC just won't work. PC is generally better for when you just want to play with yourself or if you have dedicated gaming friends who you can find servers with.
  18. I have no experience, education, or training on the matter, but when I heard about the dead shad, I attributed it to the spawning runs, figuring they would swim back up the rivers to spawn and then die, just like salmon on the West coast. If anyone comes across a solid explanation, make sure to let me know, I'm curious about it now.

  20. I don't see how anyone can claim that video as any sort of proof of that particular fish being a new WR. The video is grainy and not zoomed in very well, it could be in a very wide range of weights (certainly an awesome fish though)
  21. Ok, I just got the picture from my phone (Rob, thanks for showing me how to do that) I had a lot of fun. It was nice to fish with Rob and Andrew again, and it was nice to meet Simon and Paul. Thanks a ton for taking me out, Rob, I really do appreciate you giving me a seat on Old Leaky and putting me on some fish. I also really appreciate the pitching lesson. that came in handy less than 2 hours after it started and I am definitely going to keep practicing that new technique. Overall, I had a great time. Next time I won't forget the sandwiches Andrew and Simon, glad to hear you guys had some more luck, and congrats on the 4-5er, that's a real beauty.
  22. Xbox360 - more games available. That's probably the biggest differences.
  23. I'd love to go, but it sounds like we might have more passengers than boat seats... :-/
  24. I agree, but beyond that, many members of this forum, including some moderators are very involved with children with disabilities and this is especially not the place for that sort of joke, if there is such a place. let's put this thread to rest, it died, stop resurrecting it.
  25. Thanks for posting the pictures, Jay. I just realized we were pretty lucky the rain stopped when it did, even if the fish bit like crazy when it was raining...it would have been miserable to be out there all that time if it was raining. I'm just glad I got that fish to bite that spinnerbait again (if it was indeed the same fish) because I was furious when she got off that first time. (BTW, I'm am a new fan of Picasso spinnerbaits) All the fish today had huge guts, they must really be feeding up. I hope we can get out next week to catch some smallies, I'll be checking the weather, gauges, and temps all week. Overall, a very good pondhopping excursion, thanks for the invite, guys.
