  1. Way to go Muddy, I don't know you very well, but I can still honestly say I am proud of what you have accomplished.
  2. you're sure it was 15"? because it would be very difficult for a fish that length to be 5lbs. I would suggest getting a good scale, having a scale when you are fishing lets you really know how big your fish are for sure and it helps you get a good idea of how to judge fish's weights without a scale because you have more experience of seeing fish and knowing their real weights instead of just guessing.
  3. Be prepared to spend a lot of money and regret it later. Good looking fish but I would recheck the 13incher's weight guestimate. That seems a little heavy for a 13inch fish.

I'll probably get some, but in the video, the action didn't seem very much like the X-rap, it didn't dart around nearly as much as an x-rap does, it looked more like a husky jerk or something.
  5. Don't feel bad, you didn't mean to do it and given the fact that you were using cut bait, there isn't really anything you could have changed, who would have known a bass would get hooked. Not your fault, don't worry about it.
  6. Undoubtedly a nice fish, congrats man.
  7. I would like to hear some of the banjo picking songs, I really like a good banjo picker and it's hard to find one in mainstream music, I'll check some more out. And yeah, Conan did seem to really like them.
  8. does the singer/banjo player actually pick the banjo in any of their songs? I wasn't a huge fan of him strumming it. I liked his voice though.
  9. Any sort of Fluke style bait.
  10. biking is just not feasible for many people and in many areas.
  11. ok, well. Um. Next week, maybe? ;D You'll get back there soon enough and now you know a little bit more information to help you find the fish, get them to bite, and land them.
  12. Well for me, if they absolutely won't bite--I go carpin'
  13. that sucks man, but there's only one thing to do. Go back and try again tomorrow.
  14. yup, looks like a 'seed to me. Much prettier than bluegills--not as pretty as redbreast sunfish though.
  15. I think P_Rock has the idea. We need to increase our refining capacity, that will help. This boycott will do nothing, and it's pretty obvious why. Alternative fuels sound great, but let's see them actually work. All of America's corn would only produce enough ethanol for 12% of our fuel needs. Also, if we switched to ethanol, we would need to grow lots more crops and use lots more fertilizers in order to grow enough corn to produce a large amount of ethanol. All of those additional chemicals make ethanol a poor "green" alternative to gas. And there already have been studies on the oil companies recent profits. They have found nothing illegal. What we need to do is either get OPEC to stop being such idiots or we need to drill for our own oil and increase refining capacity so that we can do it ourselves.
  16. I just fished a pond with this crap and I took RW's advice. I used a slug go and walked it over the surface of the stuff and then paused when I got to a hole. It worked! I ended up dragging in a bass covered with snot but it still worked. Had 2 come off and about 4 hits using this method.
  17. I used to do a little graphic design type stuff, I could give a logo a shot. But I need more information. Is there anything you want incorporated specifically in the logo? Does the name have to be integrated into the logo? Is there anything you want in the logo (a fish, hook, etc.) also, what is the purpose of the device you have designed? it might give me something else to incorporate into the logo.
  18. I've seen that happen at Algonkian Park. The worst that I've seen it was at a place called Lake Accotink. I've seen tons of people keeping any and everything they catch there, stuffing their catches into all sorts of containers, including gatorade bottles, yes, they were stuffing a half dozen sunfish in gatorade bottles. I know they are just sunfish, but come on, what's the point in doing that?
  19. i figured it was for something scientific, but I thought they might be shooting tracking devices into them, I know they do that with a lot of fish.
  20. Never tried it, but carp and catfish eat some similar stuff so what the heck, give it a shot.
  21. Can't you install live wells on float tubes? Maybe he did that. I'm not saying it's likely, but it's a possibility. If you are indeed right (which seems more than likely) than I agree with you, it's irresponsible.

^I'm not sure about ALL college sports. Football - yes, basketball - most likely, baseball - not really, other sports- who cares.
  23. I've seen bass eat doughballs but I think it was only because it was moving and the bass thought it was a fish or bug. I don't think I've ever seen a specific doughball product for bass, as far as I know, bass mainly feed on bugs, fish, and crayfish and I think they eat more based on movement and shape than smell. (they're more likely to eat a moving thing than a smelly thing)
  24. That has not been the case in my experience. Yes you said that already. But it has been the case in my experience. I was just posting my opinion on this.Thats ok right? I can do that here right? I sometimes forget some of you guys know everything there is about everythig : No offense, but you didn't state your opinion, or at least, you didn't say that you had any direct knowledge relevant to the topic at hand. You said you had heard something about the subject but had not tested it based on your trust of your grandfather. I just repeated my opinion because I have seen evidence that contradicts what you heard. I didn't mean to be obnoxious, I was just offering my experiences to you as well because it didn't sound like you've really tested it. Just a miscommunication, not trying to be a jerk, sorry I sounded that way.
