  1. Is that the one near the Rt. 42 bridge that crosses the North River or the one that is back in the neighborhood just upstream near the dam? I used to fish at both of those parks. I always did better at the little park by the bridge. I caught a pike there one time and lots of largemouth on topwater over the weedbed that grows there when the water is warm.
  2. Burke and Brittle are open at night.
  3. Also, I've been hearing talk recently about DC boating regs requiring boat operators to have taken a boating safety class. You might want to investigate that just to be sure.
  4. It's great for cleaning clutter and temp files as well as uninstalling programs and controlling Startup programs. That stuff isn't very hard to do without CCleaner but it is definitely much easier to do with it. It's free. Download it and judge for yourself.
  5. Are you coming from Front Royal to launch? If so, Pohick and Occoquan would be a shorter drive. I think Occoquan is open until dusk but I think Pohick closes at 7 or so. I think you should call the parks and ask about night time boating. I think some of them will allow after hours boaters to stay as long as you have a certain pass. 2. Anytime is the "right time" as long as you fish the right spots. There are lots of topics about fishing tides if you do a search. 3. Get a stronger trolling motor. Otherwise, if you get wrapped up, pull it up and clean the weeds off.
  6. I believe I heard Bizz is at least 8 feet tall
  7. Another option is Belle Haven but that ramp sucks and there isn't much room on a normal day. You have to remember that everyone and their mother will be out in their boats tomorrow. Be prepared for lots of boat traffic, choppy water, and most likely a few idiots at whatever ramp you decide to use.
  8. NewAngler, you're probably rigging them wrong. Have you read the manual?
  9. Dan, did you do a day visit or did you camp out? How was the fishing? I've done both. That park is basically where I started fishing. Me and a friend used to go there a lot during the summer after high school. The campsites are nice but kind of mushed together. The fishing was decent. We caught LOTS of fish but almost all were small. Of course, that was closer to the time of the fish kills so there should be some larger fish around now. That stretch is full of big bedrock which is fun for fishing (I like throwing topwaters in those types of areas) but it makes it very difficult to wade. There is a canoe/kayak launch at one corner of the large parking lot. I would imagine a canoe or kayak would make it much more comfortable to fish.
  10. x2 There's absolutely NO WAY to tell that a fish was caught solely because the right brand of bait was being used or if another brand or even style of bait couldn't have caught the same fish.
  11. 2500 for bass. It's already small enough.
  12. ^Raymond R. "Andy" Guest Jr. State Park Very nice park, just be careful, it can be a difficult wade.
  13. Dan: replied to burleytog's topic in Everything Else
I don't understand how they could possibly be comfortable unless you have perfectly shaped toes.
  14. No, the OP (which was from years ago if you haven't noticed) was about other markings "the size of a pinhole." I've seen what he is talking about and it doesn't appear to be the same pigmentation affliction as the last two pictures.
  15. haha, I know, I was just pulling your leg. You can throw jigs, shallow cranks, and spinnerbaits on the P'mac also.
  16. Your challenge has been accepted. But then you southern folk need to come up and fish the Potomac. x2 and don't forget your frogs. I hate frogs, grass and braid. Oh, well you should just bring your finesse stuff and spinning rigs. ;D
  17. No one said anything that wasn't nice. Asking for fairness is not being mean. If anything, asking women to qualify the same way as men is giving them equality. Having different requirements implies inequality.
  18. Ya'll do realize there are ramps at Mattowoman, right? ;D
  19. well now that depends on where and what you fish as well as whether or not you buy the "line visibility" thing, doesn't it?
  20. I wish I could say that I was surprised. I'd be willing to bet they could get better ratings from other programming. Honestly, I'd rather be fishing on Sat/Sun mornings anyway.
  21. I think it will sell well if only for the JDM styling

  23. topwater! I'd also question the smallmouth designation but you've seen them and I haven't.
  24. The SEC also got into trouble with a porn scandal of their own recently.
  25. Why is it funny that taxpayers have been paying government employees to watch porn?
