  1. My advice would be to use a jig with the most compact head you can find. I like jigs with recessed line ties. They tend to grab less grass. Also, it might be worthwhile to smother/spray it with a scent. Most are oil based so they help stuff slide through grass better.
  2. how old is this girl and why was she dating a 16 year old?
  3. how is "being one sided" the same as what I said? "One sided" suggests that it demonstrates a bias or purveys a certain point of view. How is that relevant to my complaint about the celebrities' lack of historical expertise? Maybe I should clarify. I do not dislike the celebrity appearances because of what they have to say (most of what they say is very generic, vague, and almost cliche) but rather because there are people who are ten times more qualified to offer commentary on certain time periods...
  4. You were glad that they weren't hispanic because it would have furthered a stereotype that you find personally hurtful. Makes perfect sense, don't worry about the other guys, they just didn't read it well enough.
  5. he sure looks stoked! ;D
  6. there was no high tide at Solomons or Annapolis today either. Very strange.
  7. hopefully your basing your conclusion on more than the experiences of one buddy of a buddy?
  8. Everyone I've ever known who actually OWNS one has loved it. I have heard of them breaking, but I have seen you say that they break a lot WAY more often than I see actual accounts of breaks from owners. maybe someone should help you buy better reels at a better price?
  9. So you don't actually have any REAL examples of how it's "one sided" you just decided that you think it seems like it's going to be one-sided. How empirical of you.
  10. If you have a cart you can put a Hobie in at Kephart but you won't be able to go upstream, only down.
  11. Grass fraying line? Unless you live in a field of saw-grass I don't think that's the cause.
  12. Sometimes I use Max Deet but most of the time I use cigars.
  13. ...? that was in the original post
  14. If you read this it sounds like the only place to fish Anne as a non-resident is the Lake Anne Village Center dock. Other than that, I can't help ya.
  15. Ya it surely won't be my last. I found a spot that is chalk full of snakeheads. My buddy has been catching several every time he goes to this same area. So I plan on catching and destroying as many as I can . probably wont make a dent in the population but every one that I kill wll at least help a little. I been goin to this spot so much that I totally forgot bout going to Lake Anna cold side for some bedding bass. You're really not going to do any damage. They just breed too fast. People have been killing every one they catch for years and they are still growing in numbers at a very high rate. They sure are fun to catch though.
  16. wait, if the game wardens were watching them do this, why did they wait until after 141 fish to bust them?
  17. that's a little one but it sure has some pretty markings! did you see this? http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1273181649
  18. Who's finished? I agree. That is why constructive criticism doesn't hurt my feelings. Nobody here feels superior, and nobody is angry. This is a discussion board, and opinions will be posted. Intelligent thoughts should be posted in an intelligent manner. That is my opinion. You don't have to share it. bingo bango!
  19. Pohick Bay I wish I knew more details. I'll make a post once I hear more.
  20. Dan: replied to frogtog's topic in Everything Else
    +1!
  21. what bait and what rod?
  22. No one should believe anything in this "article". What the heck is an "atomic electromagnetic pulse"? An EMP has nothing to do with atoms. It is an EMP created by a high level nuclear explosion. http://www.atomicarchive.com/Effects/effects21.shtml I could have read it wrong but this "article" makes it seem like a separate weapon instead of a byproduct of a nuclear explosion.
  23. a friend of a friend caught this beast today or yesterday in a tributary of the Potomac. From what I've heard it should be a new world record. Pretty impressive considering they are native to Asia and have only been here for about a decade.
  24. I don't agree with that statement. Do you use capitalization and punctuation when you write a note on the kitchen counter or on a friend's door? I don't. I classify short posts in the same category as such notes.
