  1. Very neat!
  2. The Sahara I got has an on/off for anti-reverse but it's very small.
  3. I replaced the harness because some of the plastic around the metal in that looked like it had got hot. New harness, new relays put in and trim is back in business. I'm feeling better. Can't wait to get back on water.
  4. I bought 3 new spinning reels in last week or so. Kinda having my own little comparison test. All within $10 of costing $50. They're all 2500/3000 size range. Pflueger President, Pflueger Trion and Shimano Sahara. Hadn't really fished em yet. Just playing with em around the house. So far, I like the Pfluegers best. Problem with the Sahara is the little switch you flip to backreel is oddly placed and teeny-tiny. I've found the best casting setup to be braid with a floro or mono leader. Couple are spooled up straight copoly but probably change them to braid eventually. It's just so smooth casting. I was tossing the Sahara with 10-lb Power Pro and man it's accurate.
  5. I have a CC permit and usually carry mine in a compartment in boat.
  6. You ain't got to be old for it to happen. I got off balance and took the plunge last year at 47. We were fishing a bridge. I dig paddled to riprap to get back in boat. Worst part was my pride (wife witnessed it) and I fried an iPhone 6.
  7. I was fixing to say the same thing. Y'all see that Bassmaster piece on him? I once got to be a marshal and sit in back of KVD's boat early in his career. He was cool. It was MegaBucks on Gville in like October. The had "holes" marked off and each of top 10 guys got like an hour in each hole. Unusual format. Last day of tourney I think. We pulled up to this bridge. Crappie fishermen. He said "Excuse me I just need to get in there for a second." He threw a Bomber Long A I believe to the corner of the riprap. One cast. Pulled out a 2-3 pounder. Went on his way. The look on their faces was priceless. I believe it was the same day Larry Nixon became BASS's first million dollar man.
  8. Get the Ozark Trail at Walmart. It's like like $10. Essentially the same thing as the higher priced brand. I got both. I usually grab the Ozark Trail.
  9. Just ordered 3 spools of line and upgraded 3 spinning reels. Wife got me a new Duckett 7-0 medium heavy for Christmas. I don't have it as bad as y'all but I'm getting there. I'm trying out the Vicious XACT line. Had a guide rave about it. The Plopper not supposed to be junk. I bought one too. Got it just a little too late this fall.
  10. Can you put a small boat in the water? Seems like it would be a fun place to fish in a yak or a small jon. Add some Electronics and you could probably figure out what the fish are doing right quick.
  11. You going to fish or make coffee?
  12. Got the relays and the new harness today. Got to find time to get it on. Y'all say a little prayer that this straightens it out.
  13. In mid-November, I sold my 1998 16-foot Xpress with a 60-HP Yamaha and bought a 1998 Triton TR19 with a 175 HP Mariner EFI. I've had it out 5-6 times and enjoyed the ride and roominess plus the faster speed but last time I had it out, the trim went out as I was about to load it. It would go down but not up. We think it's the wiring harness and the relay. I've ordered the part to replace it ($150). Now I'm wondering. Am I going to have ongoing expense and issues like this? Did I mess up by trading up to this boat? I've even thought about trying to sell it and trying to find an 18-foot aluminum boat. It's a nice boat. I just want ease of use and to be able to hook up and fish when I want with minimal expense and maintenance issues.

I'm gonna try to catch some fish on a jig and a Carolina rig.
  15. You ought to have a ball in east Tenn. Good luck.
  16. It's been 15 here in Guntersville the last 3 nights. But it's supposed to be 69 by Friday. If you don't like the weather in north Alabama, just wait 10 minutes. It'll change. Buddy went out fishing during the cold snap. Pic is how his rod looked when he got back. There were a couple boats off the 69 causeway trying for crappie this morning. I got to do a little work on the Triton. And I'm probably going to deer hunt until season goes out Feb 10 then try to fish on the warmer days. Hoping for an early spring...
  17. 4-pounder. Silver blue back Rat L Trap.
  18. 7-0 Duckett Ghost MH spool of sunline floro couple packs of Missile D-bombs
  19. I try to take 2 a year, a buck and a doe. Alabama allows basically as many does as you want and 3 bucks a year. I been pacing myself. Last week or 2 of January is our best hunting and they've extended the season to Feb 10 this year.
  20. Whatever floats your boat...
  21. Bluegill/shellcracker. Love em. My wife enjoys this kind of fishing and we spend some fun days pursuing them.
  22. I've tried lately. But I've got a touch of arthritis in my right wrist. Something about holding that rod straight just kills it. No problem reeling with that hand but can't hold rod with it.
  23. I still fish but weather means not as frequently as spring, summer, fall. I deer hunt too. I try not to miss a Crimson Tide games on the tube. Rainy and windy herd today. Sitting by the Christmas tree, watching Celebration Bowl and playing on Internet. Crappie are going gangbusters down at lake. May have to try them soon.
