  1. Whip his ass, sea bass!! I’m just kidding. An old state trooper used to teach defensive driving here. He said “Don’t get in s stinking contest with a skunk. They’ll out-stink you every time.” Oh, yeah, and Georgia is going to curb stomp OK.
  2. I bought the H2O bibs and jacket at Academy. Caught em on sale a year or so back and actually got both pieces for $100. I dunno how it compares to the higher dollar stuff but it’s nicest raincoat I’ve owned. I got a $100 bill burning a hole in my pocket after Christmas and not sure what I’m going to do either.
  3. You know this for sure, but I’d check that wood transom to make sure it’s solid.
  4. Beautiful Fish. Be proud you got it.
  5. I’ve caught fish on the 90, never the 130. I want to get and try a 110. Caught several on the 90 but no big fish.
  6. My 1998 Triton TR 19 dual console with Mariner Magnum 175.
  7. Always in the boat unless I’m in a tourney where firearms in boat are against the rules.
  8. I been throwing a sexy shad One Knocker. I love rattlebaits anyway. Hadn’t killed em but I’ve caught a few. Yo-yo retrieve mostly.
  9. Most of my stuff is in Plano boxes in one compartment on my boat. I’m bad to toss the packs of soft plastics I tend to use most often in the passenger console glove box. I think I actually find them quicker there. I’m in the process of paring down to stuff I most often catch with - Traps, squarebills, trick worms, Whopper Plopper. I ain’t done nothing with swim jigs and chatterbaits and I’m disappointed with that. Gonna try to learn shakeyhead over the winter. If it ain’t catching for me, I ain’t gonna tote it much longer.
  10. I like fishing with people and I enjoy fishing alone. There is just something magic about being in a cove all by yourself catching a few. Sometimes there can be compatibility issues with a partner. He like jigs in slop, you like Rat-L-Traps and squarebills. You can short change yourself and the partner.
  11. I’ve bought three rods from Tackle Warehouse. They’re awesome. Super fast shipping. Even got a free T-Shirt last time.
  12. That's a heck of a casting deck. I like it. A lot. I'd have to add a fishing seat though.
  13. Seems like every time I find the killer bait, they quit biting it the next time out. But Guntersville bass are fickle like that it seems.
  14. I'd take my $59 and buy something else. Not a fan of the President. I did add a cheaper Pflueger Trion to the arsenal this summer and I've enjoyed it. I'm a Shimano fan.
  15. That's what I'm talking about! New PB!
  16. Will it pull a boat?
  17. Swim jig and chatterbait. I know these are great baits but I've caught next to nothing on them. Caught a big drum on a swim jig. I've got to figure out how to make these work.
  18. They're $69 at Academy right now.
  19. Somebody let the mad scientist out of the garage!
  20. Finally a Senko fish! Missed 6 bites then got this little guy. I'm learning weightless plastics!

Snuck out for a couple hours tonight after work. A lot of bait activity on the edge of the grass. I threw a spinnerbait, a Whopper Plopper, a frog, a swimming worm, nothing. Moved to another grass bed. Even more activity. Started throwing a shad colored unweighted Senko-like plastic. Y'all know I'm still learning how to fish unweighted plastics. I got bit 6 times before I finally stuck one. Had figured it out and the dang wind came up and wrecked what I had going. Ran to a sheltered sea wall and caught one more. These were 12-inch dinks. Couple of the ones I turned but didn't stick felt bigger. I liked this technique. Do you ever catch big fish on it? What I learned is you've got to really set the hook. Gonna change the mono that's on there to copolymer and see if that helps a little with the hook set. It was a very pleasant evening weather wise. Can't wait to throw this some more.
  22. Deer hunting (bow and gun), shooting, ATV riding, a little saltwater fishing, putt-putt golf, walking for exercise, Alabama football. Roll Tide!
  23. You've inspired me. I'm going on a "diet" too. i do want to acquire a Whopper Plopper 110 but I should have enough stuff to fish for a year. Might have to buy floats, jigheads and crickets for the wife's bluegill habit but no more.
  24. Never launched on gravel but I live at Guntersville. There's a nice ramp around every corner. I have launched a light Jon boat duck hunting on some nearly nothing ramps but that's a different thing altogether.
