  1. I love the splatter!
  2. This is the reason. Although 12.95 is pretty steep for each transaction from what I've seen. Also, like someone else said earlier, many businesses consider this fee as a cost of doing business because they understand the frustration many consumers have with paying that fee.

Does anyone have any experience with the Davis Baits jigs? I'm looking into their paca line of jigs more specifically. Thanks.
  4. I agree with all of that. I would like to see the outcome if they awarded points in the post season like they did during the regular season to see what that outcome would be.
  5. I've never understood why anybody would think they could tangle with a barge wake at speed and somehow come out unscathed on the other side. Somethings gotta give whether it's the boat or the contents, that includes the people in the boat. That is my one concern when out on the TN River (or it's impoundments). I think we saw one or two barges last year on KY Lake. I've seen one or two on Guntersville over the last three years. Just one or two barges? That's a low average for day to day sightings I would imagine. Fished Saturday and Sunday and probably saw 3 or 4 each day.
  6. It's like a tv show man. They came up with a secret plan to catch the guy in the act. I nominate the TD for the lead role in next season's CSI: Las Vegas. One smart cookie I say
  7. What a stupid way to die. It's hard to feel any kind of remorse for something like that. I mean, you feel sorry for the family, but wow, drunken jet skiing without a life jacket. I know what you mean no sympathy for that dude. : The way I understood his wife was on the back of the jet ski. Real sad and stupid stuff. Just wear the jacket.
  8. 4 deaths on Tennessee waters this weekend. All 4 people were not wearing a life jacket. The incident I originally posted about is now being ruled a possible collision with a barge or barge waves. Another incident involved two bass boats colliding. One death. The last was a man who fell off his jet ski. No life jacket. Intoxicated. Please wear your life jackets at least when the big motor is being operated.
  9. Both bodies were found today. It is still unclear what happened right now, but authorities are saying they believe the boat struck something ejecting both men.
  10. Was fishing in a club tournament today on Kentucky Lake when I noticed a helicopter flying back and forth along the river. Once we arrived at weigh-in. There were two news vehicles and a Wildlife Resources vehicle. The 6:00 news showed a capsized bass boat and declared two bass fishermen who were in a tournament (not ours) were still missing. There were no other details at that time. I'll try to update when I hear more.
  11. Seriously? Where is your proof that FLW tries every year? Also, 6 of the top 15 open spots are FLW pros. Ever consider that the reason they are trying to get into the Elite is because they believe it is more competitive?
  12. Good to see your still alive. Thought you had fallen prey to another spider

When my girlfriend and I went to Savannah last summer, we were advised by several people to hit the Paula Deen gift shop, but not to waste our time in the line to eat. They said it wasn't worth the wait or the price.
  14. You are probably right. I wish they would've shown how he creates his bait keeper. I tried just heat shrink tubing and it worked for a while on a spinnerbait trailer hook. After a few fish and 45 minutes of fishing the tubing just started to slide down the shank.
  15. I have another tungsten question for those who have used inserts. I am looking at buying some big, heavy tungsten sinkers in the 1 to 1.5 ounce range for fishing grass. I know the weights with inserts are less sensitive, but since I'm going to be using this strictly for flipping and pitching there won't be a need for the sensitivity, just the compact size. My question is, has anyone experienced line fray from these inserts? I'll be using 20 lb fluoro and 55 lb braid. Thanks.
  16. If anyone watched the live Day on the Lake with Terry Scroggins Friday then you saw this. For those who didn't, the Big Show shared his secret flipping hook. He uses spinnerbait trailer hooks! He fashions a bait keeper out of spinnerbait wire and heat shrink. I tried myself with just heat shrink and a 3/0 Mustad trailer hook. Seems like it will be perfect for Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craws and Chigger Craws.
  17. You can go to several different lure craft supply stores like Barlows Tackle to get competitive prices for those. For instance, the Stroker hook. You can purchase 50 Mustad 28* heavy wire, needle-point hooks in 6/0 for $16.84. Then you can purchase 25 Hitch Hiker at $3.59 x2. This brings a strong, sharp hook to $0.48 a hook. I am not trying to knock Moaner or anything. Just pointing out that by shopping around and buying in bulk, there are cheaper alternatives with name brand hooks.
  18. I prefer a 5/16 - 3/8 ounce jig with a pointed nose and a vertical line tie. I prefer a green pumpkin or green pumpkin/watermelon combo with a double tail grub from Yamamoto or Kalins. When I throw a swim jig it is normally late spring around buck brush and fresh grass. I am imitating bluegills and crawdads.
  19. DD22: Chartreuse/Blue Back; Black Splatter Back; Bluetreuse; (the new Norman Chartreuse Shad looks good too) FFS BD6 & 7: Citrus Shad and Citruse SK 6XD: Sexy Shad; Chartreuse Sexy Shad; Black Splatter Back Any of those colors should work pretty well for you. Those are my favorite choices and have all done pretty well for me.
  20. Those arkie heads have been sold at my local Wal Mart for about 2 years now. Also, I read somewhere that Larew is going to start to market them.
  21. Duckett fishing a red rod. Possibly a new series under Duckett Fishing?
  22. The Norman Fat Boy is one of the best plastic wide wobbling baits there is. I really like Big M's MB1 and MB2 though. Nice balsa wood cranks that really come through the wood well.
  23. While this is all based on money, we as fans should accept this. If there are 4 major conferences remaining, all of these "top" teams will be beating up on each other throughout the year. It will make for many more interesting games. I also do not see how the NCAA will be able to avoid the playoffs if all of these teams settle into these major conferences.
  24. I didn't read it as that they put fish in this spot weeks ahead of time. I read that they had been building a machine for weeks that helps them get to a backwater area they probably can't get to without exiting the boat otherwise. It said that the entrance had debris and logs blocking the entrance. Sounds like they winch themselves in and out. I think it's kind of ridiculous myself and a lot of trouble but it seems to be working out for him.
  25. All I notice is the paper you have them sitting on that says 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost.
