Anyone see the EliteXC fights last night?
If your talking about the EliteXC, then you made the right choice. There was nothing "Elite" about it. Talk about putting the wrong foot forward for MMA. It's okay, MMA isn't going anywhere, thankfully! I have to disagree with nothing being "elite" about the show.... Two words: Gina Carano

Its down here by me Zel, in SCPA. Small, electric only lake. Humps, drops and shoreline cover are the dominant features where most bass are caught. Many of the drops have scattered wood cover on it.

Tackle Giveaway
In a very unscientific review of the products I have used, I have concluded a few things.... 1. KVD Line and Lure is without a doubt a great product. I have been using on all my reels, but I really see it shine on my Pline Cxx. Without the KVD, the stuff is not quite as manageable as I like. With it, I have no issues. Takes a good line and makes it great, puts great lines over the top. 2. JJ's is a great product as well. I have used it some to color tails on my worms used for bed fishing, but right now its all about the faster moving baits where I am at. I think JJ's will really shine when the deeper water bite turns on here. Plus, I really like the smell of garlic and this stuff reeks of it. 3. The Cavitron/Megastrike/Evo Jig gifts are also very high quality products. The megastrike goes on every swimbait and literally stays on all day long. The Shak-E2 heads stand up very nicely and have a great hook, although they dont skip very well due to that weight on the bottom. Buzzbait time will be here shortly in PA. I used a Cavitron last year and was very impressed at how slowly you can reel that thing in and get it to stay on top of the water. 4. I was out Musky fishing last weekend and while we did not catch anything, I got to explain the benefits of the Catch and Release formula to my fishing buddies. I like the fact that you can use the product directly on the fish to heal open wounds before releasing fish. If you think bass guys are fanatical about practicing catch and release, talk to some hardcore musky fisherman and your eyes will be open to a whole new world of STRICT catch and release and care for fish. I plan to have this stuff in my livewell in EVERY tournament this year, without question. It is that good. 5. As for the BTS, I have an aluminum jon boat and gave my bottle away. I am not sure if Alpster or CJ ended up with the bottle, but I have had no experience with that product. Looking forward to KY/Barkley in 2009. Thanks everyone!!!!

Why? Because they are not worth the $200 price tag.

E21 Carrot Stick Question?
I have the 7'6" and I love it. I havent even used it as a flipping rod yet. Been throwing smaller swimbaits on it since March and it works perfectly with baits up to 2.5 oz. Like Burley said, you wont regret it.

Fluke hookup problems
Try rigging your fluke "upside down". It will still be weedless and your hookups will improve.

Give this one a try.... 1.5 hours pre workout - Protein shake like Vyron mentioned .5 hour before workout - BSN NO-Xplode (1 or 2 scoops) Immediately following workout - Protein shake and some more simple carbs to assist w/ energy recovery. That NO-Xplode stuff is the best supplement ever made IMO.

Braid Suggestions
From what I understand, spraying the KVD Line and Lure on braid will help it hold its color. That is what the maker said at Guntersville. I am currently using some Sufix that MassholeMike gave me, and so far I like it. I have now tried the Spiderwire Original, Stealth, Stren and the Sufix. I havent really developed a preference other than not really liking the Original Spiderwire....

The Shield
Is it just me, or does it seem like this show hasnt been on for a LOOOONG TIME. From what I can gather, the 7th (final) season is set to begin in september. 13 episodes. I know we used to have a thread about this show, who else is a fan?

much needed advice
I wouldn't recomend this. Your crankbait will chip and it wont bring em in. Dude, stop.....seiously. : :-? River fishing can be frustrating because a lot of times, EVERYTHING looks good. Trees here, ledges there, boulders somewhere else. Before getting into one of the tournaments, make sure to do your homework and some prefishing in that area. Talk to some of the locals you see in the area. While most may not tell you anything, there is always that chance someone will. Either way, I am sure your grandfather would be honored you chose to continue his memory in this way. Good job. Wayne

Minn Kota Endura 55lb. trolling motor? Anyone else use from a jon??
I must have got one of the good ones, because I have a 16ft Tracker Jon that is HEAVY. 1-5 all move the boat effectively. Keep it in perspective, you are not going to get on plane with a trolling motor....
