St. Clair today
It's too bad you didn't come tomorrow (Monday). The weather is supposed to be clear with a light west breeze. Like I told you on the phone, all last week we had similar weather. The only problem now is the water is all stirred up form the winds and rain. Enjoy the holiday, Falcon

Rapala Super Shad Rap - anyone use?
I've had two Super Shad Raps for years. I've never caught a bass on them, but the muskies have taken a liking to them. Got the tooth marks to prove it. They are great lures, like the rest of the Rapala line-up of lures. Falcon

Recent trip to the bait store
I'm sorry to hear you haven't had any luck with the silver/blue X-Rap. That one and the hot pink have been BIG producers for me the last two years. This year I've caught most of my smallies on those two lures. Thursday I picked up six smallies on the hot pink X-Rap in about fifteen minutes in a spot I had fished earlier in the morning with a spinnerbait. All I can say is keep trying that lure, it should work. Falcon

Roger Waters in ATL
Of all my favorite groups Floyd is probably the only group I haven't seen. Sounds like it was an amazing concert. Falcon

Reel men throw pink!
Well, about an hour ago there were six Lake St. Clair smallies that thought the Hot Pink X-Rap looked real good. I've had great success with that lure ever since it came out two years ago. I was talking with Bob Richardson from "Outdoors In The Heartland" a while back and he said the pink "Zero" has been very productive for him the last two seasons. He said he uses it in murky and clear water. Falcon

Walleye tips
I've been getting them on X-Raps and Shad Raps. Or else the old stand-by crawler harnesses. I also got a couple on spinnerbaits, but that is very unusual. Falcon

PB Smallie on St Clair 5/18
Hey B, either way works. Sometimes it's easier to fish vertical because of all the weeds. On the windy days I fish with more weight and try to fish vertical, just let the movement of the boat work the bait. It's pretty effective. Falcon

My older brother and a birthday gift
Welcome guys, Glad to see you're making it a family affair. I agree there is something special about fishing trips with your brother. Falcon

Crankin' Line
You can try the XT, it's more abrasion resistant. I've never had a problem with either. Falcon

PB Smallie on St Clair 5/18
Nice fish!!! Now you know why I like this lake so much. There are some spots that will almost always have fish. What mile roads were you at? Were you south of Metro Beach? Did you fish around the beach? (usually very good this time of year) Falcon

Control
As hard as it must have been, you did the right thing. You set a good example for your daughter, and avoided a possible ugly situation. Well done, Falcon

Best fillet knife
Twenty-five yeras ago my wife gave me a Shrade "Uncle Henry" for Christmas and I still use it on walleye. It holds an edge for a long time, and like Burley, I've boned out deer and many other animals with it. Even my hunting knives are Shrade, I stick with success. Falcon

Clams for carp?
Most of the guys I know that fish for carp, just use bread balls or canned corn. I catch some on night crawlers when I'm fishing for walleyes. It can't hurt to try the clams. Good luck, Falcon

bowhunting for fish
"In My Humble Opinion" The guys around here that bow hunt the carp just use them for fertilizer as far as I know. In the spring my canal has hundreds if not thousands of carp spawning. Guys are always asking if they can come in my yard to hunt them. When I ask what they do with the carp after they shoot them, they say they take a few pictures and then bury them. That's when I close the door in their face. Falcon

First time using shiners

Sixty Degrees Outside Today!?!?!
You're lucky it's going to be 70. Today in S.E. Michigan, it's only going to 58, two days ago it was 88, I don't think this weather is ever going to get straightened out. On the other hand, as RW stated, I don't think the fish care right now......They're hungry. Good luck Falcon

What lures
So far, this year my most productive lures have been #10 X-Rap in silver/blue and a 3/8 oz white double willow spinnerbait. Falcon

Lake St. Clair Michigan spawn?
Are you putting in at Selfridge on Friday and Saturday? If so, what time? Falcon
-
what is the prettiest lake you have been on
Up in Michigan's upper peninsula there are hundreds of lakes that are beautiful. It would be difficult to pick just one. Some of the most beautiful sun rises and sunsets I have ever seen. Another beautiful lake is Lake Nipissing, in North Bay, Ontario. Falcon

Lake St. Clair Michigan spawn?
You are an adventurous soul, I'll give you that. Selfridge to Erie is a looong haul, especially if the wind kicks up. There is a launch at Metro Beach and another a little south of the beach but I've heard some nightmarish stories about shallow water there. I'm not familiar with the Detroit River. I've never fished it in a boat. I've always gone to the St. Clair River. Just a reminder, get your Canadian license before you fish Pelee Island. Personally, I think you would be better off fishing the two lakes on seperate days. St. Clair has so much to offer. The whole shore line between Selfridge and the Detroit River could take a week to fish all the good spots thoroughly, not counting all the areas to the north. Just my opinion, Falcon

looking at a abu revo s what do you think
I don't know about the "S" model, but I've had an SX for three weeks and I love it. The only problem with it is I want more, and have to wait a while before I can get more. I have six of the round reels (various models) and if this one is as durable as the round reels, it is a GEM. Falcon
