  1. First thing you need to do as a beginner is to learn how to clear a backlash in a timely manner. Practice casting with different weights and adjustments at home. If you know you can handle it on the water, you won't get frustrated.
  2. I hear ya! I don't understand the mystery, but out of the five lakes that I fish, for one of them they're a must fish bait. I've tried probably ten different colors and the Arkansas shiner out produces them all. Now I'm buying all I can get my hands on.
  3. Found it! Zoom Arkansas shiner.
  4. Yeah, thanks. I know Big Bite made a lot of their stuff too. I'll give that a try.
  5. I'm looking for a 5" fluke that was sold by gander mountain. It's shad(silver) with a green top. Very similar to the Zoom baby bass but without the flake and a little more silver. I had a bunch of them and I've repaired them till I can't repair them anymore. One of the lakes I fish it's a must have. Can anyone help me out? Please...?
  6. I've been fishing but nothing to brag about. I haven't been able to find a pattern. Seems like I can catch one fish per lure.
  7. My JK big rig is WAY better. Foot controlled steering, digital speed control and so stable you don't need those pontoon thingys. And I would bet it's a lot cheaper and made in the USA.
  8. If you can try before you buy, do it. I have the big rig. It's a fishing machine! Then again it can be a beast in wind. I think you will be happy with any of the ones you mentioned. If you fish big waters go with something a little easier to paddle. If you want to carry six rods and forty pounds of tackle, get the big rig.
  9. I've got about twenty different makes. I prefer the live targets because they have a wider profile and seem to walk easier. IMHO I've noticed little difference in color.
  10. Scent of a Woman and Second Hand Lions
  11. This what yer talking about? http://t.basspro.com/Railblaza-8-Accessory-Track/product/9992307739/?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions railblaza, yakattack, several mfgs.
  12. yeah, your probably right, I should try more colors. I tend to stay with light colors on bright days and dark colors on dark days. But some days you just gotta try something different. I try to use my "vast knowledge" of conditions but it doesn't always work?.
  13. Your chasing the "ghost bite". You get a bite on lure A and you think that's what they're going to be biting. Not always true. Its extremely frustrating and time consuming. I've had days when I get a bite on just about everything- spinners, walkers, worms, etc... and yet I can't duplicate a single bite. I'll just say "some days suck".
  14. I'm glad to hear someone is. I bought two and haven't caught a fish yet on them. I watched a YouTube article the other day about adding some weight to them. Have you tried that?
  15. I always keep a jerkbait tied on for those occasions.
  16. That was crazy. Geez, bass crashing all around. I'm surprised he couldn't just snag one.
  17. 10% off most items and no returns for defective items...not worth it...yet. I'd wait till the final days and you may find a deal you can't pass up.
  18. I hooked my PB twice. He broke my line, I rerigged, threw it to the same spot and he bit again. 8lbs and still had my purple worm stuck in his mouth.
  19. Club tournaments and poop cramps! The club tournaments, because they clog up the ramps and then they act like they own the lakes. And the poop cramps, well, you know what that feels like.
  20. Went fishing yesterday and flipping was the only way to catch them. You seriously had to drop it on their head; but they would bite.
  21. Awesome lure. I like it better than the whopper plopper because it doesn't make a huge splash like the plopper does. Great for targeting those shallow water bass.
  22. A major spawn has started this week and fishing has been terrible. Small males biting everything. And I can't get the females to bite at all. As far as location, let's just say, I fish all the smaller, shallower lakes in the area.
  23. I went with the big rig (not the deluxe model). That being said, you will be happy with either. Not an easy choice. The Rig has an extremely shallow draft. Good in skinny waters. The mirage drive is awesome. You can cut across a lake in no time. Both are heavy and can be a bear to paddle especially in wind. You will want a trailer before it's over with. Quality is not an issue, both are good. While I absolutely love my big rig, if I had to choose today, I would probably get the hobie. Then spend another $2000 on accessories.
