  1. It kinda depends. I’m an hour away from academy, but when I’m over there I definitely stop in. There’s a nice tackle store but I never seem to be going that direction, so most of my stuff I buy from tackle warehouse, unless it’s jigs, I buy all those at @Siebert Outdoors I’ve got a few other jigs and they all seem cheap to me after fishing with sieberts!
  2. The first year I started fishing exclusively for bass using artificial baits I caught a 3-4 pound cat in a pond in a senko. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! All excited for this 10+ pound bass I was going to catch and then up comes this daggone catfish!
  3. It’s a crappie, I refuse to label living things by their appearance
  4. Wait a second... you guys use your hands when you pee???
  5. I’ll second what way north bass guy said, minus the shrinkage that process is much easier than going to a third party hosting site. I have photo bucket to, honestly I don’t even mess with saving anything to it anymore.
  6. Awesome way to start the season!
  7. Mmm... fried chicken... ?
  8. I caught a nice sized bluegill that only had one eye. Kinda surprised me when he spun around and there was just the eye cavity. He seemed to be doing pretty good considering the number of decent size bass in the water with him...
  9. I learned we are getting more snow tomorrow. I also learned that Mother Nature is a cruel B***H!
  10. Around me it’s bluegill, in fact I was fishing a shad swimbait and getting no action, switched to a bluegill swimbait and caught 2 in a row. I’m not going to say it wasn’t the action of the baits or something less than scientific.
  11. My last name is frost, yes like the snow man, no I’m not related to jack, but I’m good friends with the other jack... the one you don’t know...
  12. To much snow
  13. Thanks. I was thinking about getting a double edge for a quicker shave, but I have to space my purchases out a little or the wife gives me that look with one raised eyebrow... seriously though I’ll be checking on them, thanks! Yeah, I tried one once, it was ok on the cheeks and neck but it was still painful on the lip and chin area.
  14. Yeah it’s definitely not going to be a quick shave before work, probably more of a Saturday morning, lock the bathroom door and have 10 minutes to myself before everyone else gets up. I got mine from razor Emporium, they have a little package deal with a decent beginner razor and samples of the shaving cream and balms for 70.
  15. Any of you guys practice this? I have irritation issues and shaving my upper lip and chin is pretty painful with a cartridge razor, so I thought I’d try a straight razor. I tried for the first time tonight, It was a lot less painful, unfortunately I look like I went three rounds with a really angry cat!
  16. Probably but soldering is super easy. I’m sure you could find something on YouTube. They make butt connectors for exterior applications, probably the best bet if you can find them easily.
  17. You’re as bad as my wife...
  18. That’s not 6 gauge wire, I don’t have mine anymore but I believe it was 12 gauge. Might be 10 but I don’t think so. Even if you buy a plug that’s a different gauge it will still work, just solder and heat shrink your connections.
  19. They can all make you soil a perfectly good pair of underwear given the correct circumstances!
  20. I get the same email whenever I log out and log back in. The location thing is more likely your service provider. It used to think I was in Chicago, now it thinks I’m in southern Indiana. At least I know “they” will have a hard time finding me if they are tracking my phone

I joined about 5 years ago and I plan to keep current for now, but I did have to put my name on the do not solicit list, good grief they mail a lot of junk I guess I’m in the same camp as most here, I don’t agree with everything they do, but 2A folks don’t have very many friends these days it seems.
  22. Oh man, I wasn’t even thinking it until you said that! i have 1 rod that was a cheap ($40) spinning rod for drop shotting, but it was an excellent all around rod. I broke about an inch off the top, I went ahead and cut it down to the next eye, I’m going to give it to my daughter to use since it’s still plenty sensitive and casts well. I replaced it with a more expensive rod and I’m not sure that I prefer the more expensive one.
  23. If you haven’t bought yet, I’d say go faster, you can always reel slower.
  24. You’re going to have to get way more specific...
  25. I’ve got a 1/2 ounce and 3/8. I use the half ounce the most, but slinging that big thing makes my arm hurt after a while, but if it’s catching I can deal with it...
