Man, there's a area where someone's backyard is all a dump off of the lakes and I seen 30+ catfish in that one area 2 days ago, also the first day I went down seen a cat about 30inches long, not sure how much is weighed but it was a big one. I've had them pick at my worms all the time. I guess I should say that a resident also told me the cats are bad about doing that in the lakes there

I agree, a local pond I frequent just to catch somthing is having the same problem. I was hitting them on every other cast with a soft plastic. Now I can throw that thing till my arm falls off and they won't hit. But the frogs keep em coming back. I've pulled 4 out of the same 10 Sq ft area.

I didn't know catfish would chase like that. And I thought them picking up the tail of my worm was annoying.

My only concern with working the bottom like that is the stupid amount of catfish in this place. Nearly every worm I throw has been picked up by a cat, I go to set the hook then figure out what's hit my bait.

I don't get to top water as much as I'd like to since it's much more exciting. But when I do I've gotten pretty good as seeing that strike and counting to 2 and then setting the hook making sure the bass has the bait. I'll be trying to keep my line a little tighter from now on so I can feel the fish

Right, I've been told soft plastic works best so that's what I throw. But getting places that not in someone's back yard makes it hard to find a good fishing spot. It all seems pretty shallow to me. The catfish there annoy me, they always try picking up my worm. I've been told the bass get big there, since it's all catch n release. So I can't help but keep going back. I'll land me a big one one of these days.

Pff I got a 2 lb bass yesterday on my new bass pro qualifier set up and I'm still in a good mood about it. I typically don't catch fish that size out in my area. There's so much pressure it's hard for them to get big enough without being caught and taken out.

LOL lemme see what I can do kinda thought the other way would be better to see where the water is. Judging by the location I'm sure it's crazy over priced for some coffee. Probably don't even know what a coffee black means.

I get a little high when I feel that bite and set the hook then when I get a good sized fish on the end I get about as excited as little kid coming down stairs on Christmas morning

So I've found a new spot to fish, I've been told that there's 9+ lb bass here, which makes sense because it's purely catch and release on the bass to keep bait fish down. Problem is, nothing is very deep. Not much in the way of lay down. Even the vegetation is hard to come by along the shore. There is a few bridges that I've hit some small bass under. But I'm looking for those monsters. Now before someone just points out to fish the points let me point out most of those points have houses on them, and I'd basically have to be in their back yard to fish it.

I'm always losing trigged worms. All I can do is recall where I casted and not make a cast in the same direction. Sometimes I forget and do, then I get hung up and beat myself up about making the mistake again. Because I never make the same mistake, I make it about 43 times then I learn. When grabbing your line and trying to pull free, for the love of God put sun glasses on. No one wants a hook to the eye, I always turn around so if I take a hook, it's to the back.

This is my problem, I go out there thinking this should work, and this is what I wanna throw, seems like that's never what they wanna bite

I wear polarized Oakley glasses. Can't justify using them besides there an old extra pair I've had for 7 years.

Well, you know what they say about big hands...... It's hard to find gloves that fit. I'll have to get somthing g b know the weight of and check my scale. I hope it's not messed up, I got it a month ago.

I'm new to fishing so I've been doing the wait 2 seconds and set the hook thing, which works when I can see... Not so much when I can't.

On a side note when taking apart the reel, I couldn't help but notice there wasn't any sort of gasket to try to prevent water from getting in the reel, if for some reason it was submerged. Why is that?

Havnt had that happen yet and hopefully don't for a long time. I really like my fishing hat. Took me a long time to find a black Stl cards hat.

He was OK, got the hook and and 3 hops later he was back in the water. I'll try to remember to do that next time I top water at night. Thanks.

So had my first encounter with hooking into a frog with my frog today, I knew it was only a matter of time. But as soon as I set the hook I said "yea that's not a fish..." On a side note, I wasn't getting any hits on the frog till the sun had started setting. I could see about where my frog was and I could see the bass come strike it, but couldn't tell if they had it or not so I set the hook a few times on a miss and sent the frog flying. So how does everyone tell when it's dark of the fish has hit the frog or missed it.

My spinning reel was getting a little rough when reeling in, poke up a oil grease combo set and put some grease on the reel gear. Seemed like that had done the trick but I'm pulling up to the lake now so I'll test it out

Oil for bearings and grease for gears... Correct? Sorry for stupid questions using my maintenence background this makes sense

I wish I could figure out how to rig and work these. I got a bag when I got my first bag of senkos and have tried them out a few times but I don't get a good action under the water, or at least I'm thinking. And ever video I've seen has them rigged up on a special tube hook which I havnt been able to get. So there just sitting in my plastic creature bag because I never touch them.

My buddy got a big pack of those I think 5" and man... He couldn't catch a thing. I throw him a Senko and 2 casts on he's reeling in his first fish. I took a couple from him and watched the action of the falling and it's not even close to a Senko. Also took them to the local pond that's good for catching numbers all day long, I typically fish it with some yum worms and bring in a lot of fish. Couldn't get a bite here either. I'm convinced these won't work for how I use them.

I'm gonna start making t shirts that say this. Gonna make a killing.
