rowland martin?
I can see where a product like that would get young kids excited about fishing. Hey, it might be a avenue to spark a interest in fishing for young ones. Roland is retired and goodness knows how much he was paid for his endorsement so, I say, have at it Roland. Love him or hate him his stats in the tourney world are undeniable, as well as, very impressive. He was pretty abrasive too me sometimes as well but, that was just his persona. He was a big part of the early years of Bassmaster and tournament fishing as well as being one of the most consistent fishermen there ever was. I say, good luck Roland and enjoy your retirement.

Cavitron buzz bait by Megastrike ??????????????
The Cavitron is the best buzzbait I have ever used and has by far been my best producer. The white/gold blade 1/4 or 1/2 oz is the bomb. I was down to four of them a few years ago because, I couldn't find them and a friend of mine called and said he found a case of them at a sale where a bait shop was closing. We bought the whole case. I don't know what it is but, they work. Its kind of like the same situation between the Pop R and the Rico. In my experience the Rico outproduces the Pop R hands down. Why? I don't know, but, it does, at least for me. Use them if you can find them. I think they are making them again, I am not sure.

spin casting vrs spinning gear
I remember taking a Zebco 202 fishing for carp and catfish when I was around nine or ten. Those were some of the best days of my childhood. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with muddy finger prints on them and warm Cokes. Hotter than heck out. You and your best buds leaning on a tree. AHHHHH, it makes my heart warm to think of those days. I also remember when we stepped up to 808 Zebcos and thought we had the best reels ever. So, there was and still is a place for those old spincasters. I am sure that somewhere there will be kids along a river or creek this year as well with a spincaster creating some memories.

Family violence, take action.
Wow Allen, I did not know that was your cousin. Sorry to hear that. That situation shook up everyone to the ninth degree. When that incident took place it sent a chill up every health care worker in the county. It was exceptional because of your cousins age, in which I posted wrong, but, that is beside the point. We see it all the time with older children in this area. My heart goes out to you and your family. Protective custody huh? I won't even go there. I'll see you this week at Jeffs. If the family needs any counciling I will do what I can to hook them up with someone. Sometimes that helps a lot. He had a history of Anger Management? I know you well enough and you are certainly big enough, that something in me wishes that you would have been aware of that situation. I am sure your style of intervention would have been the RX for that lowlife. Hang in there my friend.

Devils Horse lure?
Cool shades LBH. If you ever sneeze just phone me and I will get you a bed in the ER. It might take the Doc's awhile to remove those hooks though. Of course, I will have to put those lures in a Bio Bag because of the blood contamination and take them home to carefully document them and store them in my tackle bag for future reference for insurance purposes. I will do all I can to help. Thats just me, I give and give. ;D

Are they really pro's?
Right on RW. All the electronic and 300hp motors in the world won't give you a edge if you don't know what you are doing and why. I can't see limiting equipment such as rods and electronics. Its not going to happen in the new age of tourney fishing anyway. Its not about fishing anymore, its sales and marketing. I would like to see some old school come back even though its not going to happen. Just two things would make it more fun for me to watch. Limit the boats to 20', limit the motors to 150's again, no prefishing or outside help of any kind two weeks before the first day. I guess I am just nostalgic.

How often do you apply Reel Magic?
I rarely use it in the summer but, when the temps get into the low 30's and below it really helps.

jig tips
Jigs are by far my most productive and favorite bait. You can flip, pitch, swim and hop them along the bottom. They catch fish for me in about any scenario you can come up with.

The original Big O's and the Hank Parker Spinnerbaits.

Rapala DT crankbaits?
I am not by far a crankbait thrower but, in the late summer I throw them on points. My three most productive by far have been DT-10 and 16, Deep Wee R and Norman Deep Baby N.
-
what is your spinnerbait go to color
I am a spinnerbait man and have tons of them but, the one I reach for the most typically is a white one with Indiana blades. It seems to be my most productive. If I am fishing gin clear water I use blue glimmer the most.

Family violence, take action.
RW, we need you and Muddy to take charge of the Child Protection Services. I think your intervention would save the taxpayers a lot of money and solve some problems, very simply, lol. ;D

Family violence, take action.
I hear you RW. We have some frequent flyer's that come in with hurt children and you KNOW what happened and the spouse lies like a rug to protect the pieces of trash. I get just as angry with them. That was the point I was trying to get across in this post. Neighbors, teachers, family members, to make a long list short, can spot the signs and should not hesitate to call someone. You certainly do not have to give your name and can remain nameless. RW, I will say this, a few times over the years I would have liked to have tripped and fallen with a syringe loaded up with some bye-bye juice and say, WHHOPPPPPPPSS. I am sure that a few of my coworkers would have liked to have done the same. :-?

WHAT A TRIP!
Glad your trip was safe. Now, back to some some structure in your life. As I always say, one door shuts and another one opens. Good luck and I hope you and your family find happiness there, as well as, some good fishing water.
