  1. Not yet, the dealer has been good to share the Toyota tracking details with us. We watched it progress from factory build in Japan, sail across the Pacific, travel by train to KC auto yards, and now hopefully on a truck for delivery to dealer. It’s looking like sometime in the next week or two.
  2. This is great - good luck. I was in the same boat and did not have my bachelor’s degree until my mid 30’s and my graduate degree until almost 40. You can do it!
  3. We have a 2023 Toyota Venza (hybrid) on order since November. The MPG will fall in the cold weather. I will love getting 40+ mpg in warm months, and have fingers crossed we get 30+ mpg in winter.
  4. Nebraska checking in - yep, we could use some moisture for sure.
  5. It’s been a while and I will no doubt be rusty, but my guess is that it will likely be a close race between a Boo-Yah Pond Magic spinnerbait and the Ned Rig.
  6. This brings back memories - my family had one of these steamers when I was a kid. No idea if it actually did any good.
  7. Always seemed to work for me and my sons when they were sick as children. Good luck!
  8. I have seen you mention the success / overall favorable experience with this line. I finally decided to buy some and wouldn't you know, everyone is out of stock. Once available, I am going to try 10 lbs for spinning.
  9. Drought, floods, intensity of storms, changing weather patterns, rising global temperatures are real and now affecting many of us (and will undoubtedly globally impact future generations) indiscriminately; irrespective of race, faith, political alignment, wealth, education, gender…
  10. Very little snow in eastern Nebraska from the storm and the cold temps are starting to subside. Hit close to -46 (windchill) on Thursday and now we are looking at positive-side numbers today. Still freezing, but at least on the right side of 0.
  11. Looking at -11 tonight with windchill off -47 here in Eastern Nebraska. Ugh….
  12. “Funny, I may have missed it but I didn't hear a word of praise or remembrance from our administration about this day that was to be " a date that will live in infamy." Shame” https://ru.usembassy.gov/a-proclamation-on-national-pearl-harbor-remembrance-day-2022/
  13. Life-long Bruins fan here but living in the Midwest makes it hard to really stay up on things. My hockey enjoyment is now most watching local college hockey and my oldest son's league.
  14. Totally agree that Trout has more than earned his contract. In the 5 seasons since Trout started making $30M+ per year, he has put up fWAR of 6.3, 7.9, and 9.9 - his other 2 seasons were cut short by injury and short season schedule due to COVID and he still put up nearly 2 fWAR each season. The knock on Trout is recent rash of injuries and playing for a team that simply is never competitive for a playoff spot. As for Harper, he hasn’t been as productive from an fWAR perspective (some injury and some up/down play) but he still has over the last few years won MVP, Silver Slugger, multiple AS selection, and been a beast in the playoffs. As a Red Sox fan, would gladly pay $27M to have him on the team. If anything, Harper (presuming he recovers from latest injury) will likely be viewed as being underpaid relative to the MLB market.
  15. As a life-long Red Sox fan, these past few years have been rough. Hate seeing Mookie and Xander leave. You are spot on about even in decline (and assuming him not having the same all-time great season that he had last year), Judge is projected (listed at 50 percentile) to have several years of All-Star level production. With that said, the last few years of the contract looks rough...
  16. According to FanGraphs, the highest paid position players by AAV:
  17. Home Alone Elf Polar Express The Santa Clause
  18. Grandpa in South Pacific while still in his teens — USS Denver
  19. My Top-5 for the year:
  20. I would like to say I am taking a break rather than quitting, but I last went fishing November 2019 (right before Thanksgiving). Living in the Midwest, this would have normally meant starting back up once ice off the lakes but Covid really affected my mental/emotional state and work responsibilities became consuming. I really thought that things would get back to normal for me in 2021 but it was more of the same. I made a change at work and finally feel much better mentally -- looking forward to starting fresh Spring 2023. Despite not fishing for so long, I still really enjoy coming to the forums here and reading/seeing the successes you are all having.
  21. Yeah, it has a nice look. We just test drove a 2023 Toyota Venza (hybrid) and think it will be the next daily driver for the family.
  22. The Georgia defense is just unrelenting -- I'm sure the field conditions/weather doesn't help the Tennessee offense, but so much speed for the Dawgs!
  23. I had this a few years ago during Christmas timeframe. Neck and chest - absolutely miserable and surprised me how painful it was. Had double shots of vaccine with little issue - NEVER EVER want to go through shingles again.
  24. For me, learning the history of fishing is what I love with this site. I always enjoy hearing @WRB, @Catt, and many others explain what it was like to fish the early impoundments in California, Texas; being in the swamps of Louisiana and Florida; the tournament trail of the 70’s and 80’s; the origin stories of techniques, lures, equipment. This is what I find rewarding and always appreciate when this is shared on here. For some of the older “pros” that have been mentioned, I’m sure they could reminisce about these topics and not hurt secrets or business interests.
