Car horns
Rarely. Usually when a light turns green and the person in front of me is too busy texting to notice. Even then I count to 5 Mississippi before doing it.

She knows its wrong but it works for her.
I find this is a common habit for those that start fishing with Spincast reels. On those combos the reel is on top and the handle on the opposite side. It then feels foreign when they pick up a spinning rig for the first time having the reel on the bottom of the rod.

That rubber mat protects the boat carpet as well ?

Fishing Etiquette
I never have this problem. When I am fishing I avoid people like there is a pandemic going on…

Shimano Curado DC
Worth every penny I paid for it. DC reels are the ronco rotisseries of the baitcasting. Set it and forget it.

St. Croix Bass X Rods - Testing Reel Seat
I have both the old Bass X (blue lettering on rod) and the new Bass X (Red, Green and yellow lettering on rod) I have had zero issues with either rod. The older rod has seen 3 years of use almost exclusively. Different reels but the same rod and it still looks and performs like the day I bought it.

Kayak Combos
3 combos. I have 2 rod holders behind my seat and 1 rod holder in a Scotty mount up front. 2 Casting combos. Medium Heavy and Medium 1 for topwater and 1 for jig and worm 1 Spinning combo. Medium light for dropshot, finesse and panfish action. Nothing longer than 6’10” as longer rods are cumbersome to untangle from a sit in kayak.

have you even had a package stolen from your front porch?
I have a doorbell camera. Best investment I ever made. I got it to stop a ding and dash kid. Scared the hell out of him popping out before he touched the bell. It also helps keep track of packages being dropped off. When my son’s phone arrived and no one was home I asked the delivery guy though the bell camera to drop in in a planter by the door. That way it was not in sight of anyone walking in the road.

Living Next To A Sewer
And here I came to this thread think I lived on Staten Island NY about a mile from the infamous landfill. Summers you could smell it even from a mile away. NY has really declined in recent years. Pandemic, inflation, bail reform, etc. have set the city back to the days before Time Square was cleaned up. It is very sad to see the decline. Hopefully people will show their displeasure come November…

Dc reels
I have both the SLX DC and the Curado DC. I love them both. Setting the tension correctly makes these reels shine. Tighten the tension knob until there is no side to side play in the spool. When done correctly you will notice even light baits like a weightless 4” worm will drop swiftly when the button is pressed. This will give you the best casting distance on whatever line setting you use. 2 for mono, 3 for Fluoro. If your bait is really aerodynamic and over a half ounce (like a Kastmaster spoon) and low to no wind use the 1 setting and get max distance. I don’t backlash using 10-12# mono and the 2 setting. I would have to hit a branch on my back cast to do that. I have some backlash when playing with the 1 setting.

Eating healthy..
K.I.S.S. Everything in moderation and move more. If I want a cheeseburger I am going to have it. If I eat more than a moderate amount of calories I add some exercise to my day to burn some of those extra calories. Portion control helps. A cheeseburger and fries meal from any of the usual chain restaurants (Applebees, Ninety-Nine, etc) can be cut in half and doggy bagged. That 2 meals. Most of the time I am full before I finish half and force myself to eat the rest. Most days I make sure to include some almonds and blueberries as a snack. Much better than a cookie.

I hate spinning gear
No. I use 1000, 2500 sized spinning gear for anything less than 1/8 oz and Fluoro or Mono lines 8# test and under. They will always have a spot in my arsenal for trout and panfish. I could go BFS for those lures and line but there is no need for that investment at the moment.

Best spinning reels under $150?
A quick turn of the drag and I pull out some line is about the same amount of time and efficiency as flipping an anti-reverse switch. I never back reel so I never used that switch and never miss. I was cleaning one of my Lew’s spinning reels once and the spring in that switch went flying when I pulled the frame apart. Gremlins must have taken it cause I couldn’t find it. Lew’s sent me another for free.

Best spinning reels under $150?
This would be my choice. Lowest price Shimano I found with a screw in handle. I am not a fan of spinning reels with the knob you tighten on the opposite side of the handle.
