Old salty boat mechanic I know said the best way to prop a boat is put it on and go. Guy knows his stuff, said he grew up propping boats at a salt water marina . used to be a prop swap day for bass boaters around here. Everyone show up to the ramp and try out different props to see which ran better it’s a no BS method

I had a water snake that wouldn’t stop coming at my canoe on Sunday. I picked it up with my paddle and it took off like a bolt of lightning, pretty funny

@ol'crickety, it’s called a longtail , they predominantly use them in Thailand. I got a kit online from Thailand and the engine itself I got from harbor freight . Duck hunters run them thru wet mud to access backwaters. I use mine to drive thru rapids and shoals so we don’t have to take two vehicles and float from point A to B which usually takes all day. It allows me to fish waters I normally couldn’t. And I put it on my papaw’s 1957 boat

Fish are individuals also not everything they do is because of spawning I would imagine there are even some individuals that may be a homebody one year without traveling, then the next year they swim a few miles. nature and wildlife are never as predictable as humans want them to be we can read the above sentence one hundred times, wake up tomorrow and start a thread about why bass only eat purple senkos on cloudy days with a 13 mph breeze

Soft shells are no joke like everyone posted above. This one wheeled around and bit the end of my buddies thumb off! Haha. They will quickly destroy all your catfish lines like snappers, we caught like a dozen that weekend. We aren’t allowed to keep soft shell in TN but I had it at a restaurant in FLA, not bad. Very dark meat

There was a guy with a jon boat taking out the other day, me and my buddy talked to him for a bit. Said he had a kayak and fished a while, decided to upgrade to Jon boat . From out of town somewhere I forgot. Some ladies pulled up in kayaks and we were already blocking the ramp chit chatting so me and my friend paddled away to clear the ramp. Got maybe a quarter mile upstream and heard some god awful sounds, he had dropped an axle off the side of the concrete. We paddled back toward the ramp to help but by the time we got close he had locked it in 4x4 with a nice newish f150 and grinded his way out after disconnecting the trailer. Later that night when we took out, there was a terrible set of chunks taken out of the concrete ramp from his axle, I still feel bad we didn’t back his trailer down for him. My buddy said he mentioned something about not being able to back a trailer, I never heard that part as I was parking my truck . Granted he shouldn’t have been launching without knowing how but dang he tore up some stuff and I wish we could have taught him something

Just trying to “show you someone who knows the ned ways” haha i just use regular worms that don’t melt on 1/16 oz dart heads even though I have read the ned ways many times.
