  1. One of the YouTubers that fishes my waters always says “I don’t use GoPros because GoPros don’t work” 😂 if it overheats where a jay lives it won’t stand a chance here, it’s almost always sunny
  2. I used to have to read papers in college about the difficulty of distinguishing a Cooper’s hawk and a sharp shinned hawk…….. don’t miss that! Hahah we have a lot of northern harrier and red shouldered hawks but I believe they are larger buteos (like red tail hawks) that eat mostly mammals or big birds like pigeons. I’ve also seen them carrying snakes around. the accipitors are built like dog fighting airplanes for chasing birds thru the tree branches, like coopers and sharp shins. The smaller falcons like kestrels are definitely around, I’m just not quite as good at spotting/identifying them. Up in the cliffs of the mountains we supposedly have a decent population of peregrines, they love to hunt vertical walls. From what I understand they dive bomb birds in the skyscrapers of NYC
  3. Ott Defoe also had some recent footage of a bass eating a buzzbait, I guess it was from Toledo bend
  4. My buddy found a mid 1950s sportspal online in excellent shape, he may get it. Apparently they make a great boat, I had only heard of their canoes
  5. @HenryPF, where on earth can you possibly live without all of those animals, the North Pole ? Haha
  6. If only bass did exactly what humans think they should do all the time…….. would it be more fun? Nah
  7. Nice fish @AlabamaSpothunter! I see what your early problem with the crank was, the hooks were stuck together 😂
  8. white birds are always near baitfish Beaver and muskrat are vegetarians. I catch gar and bass together all the time but they’ve both been in the river a few million years, neither of them can leave now
  9. ^im sorry but that was hilarious 😆 glad all parties are somewhat unhurt
  10. Thanks it was fun, I can feel a vitamin D boost 😂
  11. Water temp was 45 on the Holston River but they were finally scheduled to slow it down some. Fishing was better than expected with those temps, most fish were caught reeling paddle tail baits in fast shallow water. The air felt hot in the 50s with the sun shining
  12. Wow. I’m praying for yall.
  13. Prayers for his family and all you guys that knew him
  14. Kristine fisher is in 17th place as coangler
  15. We’ve got an eagle nest near the house and I always hear horned owls as well. The eagles have zoomed the roof many times, they don’t seem to mind human activity I was walking down an abandoned train track toward the river today and a hawk flew right above the tracks maybe 15 feet off the ground and right over my head. We looked at each other in what seemed like slo mo, freaked me out a little. I don’t know what kind of hawk, red shouldered maybe.
  16. Allen’s coffee flavored brandy. It ain’t great but it’s what I got……
  17. I think Kristine fisher is in this tourney also
  18. You know you’re a red neck when you’ve done one of the things @Bankc just listed……… and I have…….. unhooked everything and put jumper cables from the crank batt to the deep cycle and drove around for a while not recommended 😂
