  1. Just a little camp stove, the two burner Coleman wouldn’t fit in the kayak haha. She also cooked a 3 lb sirloin on that setup that day!!! thats our biggest pan too, she wasn’t going to risk taking her grandmas. she wants to be buried with that thing when it’s all said and done
  2. I could be off here but…….. I think they should have cleaned the rust out of them. I’ve seen people restore 50-60 year old cast iron that sat out in the yard but they had to “over clean” it for a few days to get the rust out my aunt gave me one from the 1960s that was rusted. I cleaned it out with steel wool for quite some time, lots of elbow grease. Then you have to coat them with oil and re-season them in the oven.
  3. Caught several with the marabou last night
  4. Yeah but I was camping on the Cumberland in the wilderness. We even filtered drinking water straight from the source no boiling all our municipal drinking water comes from the rivers, can’t hide from it I don’t know if the TN river is one of the most polluted waters, it’s just stuff you hear/read. Seems like articles came out saying it had the most micro plastic in the world but I didn’t conduct the study so who knows
  5. Will one of y’all please swing by and poke out the jet on my chainsaw? Thanks in advance. Got a big tree down
  6. @Darth-Baiter, we had two full size ice chests in our canoe, plus tents sleeping bags etc. You can see them behind me in this pic, canoe is a pack mule then my buddy found a huge igloo cooler on wheels up in the woods and took that home too! as far as the cast iron, just wash it with river sand/gravel.
  7. My wife re seasons ours regularly so I will use a tiny drop of soap when it’s dirty . If this tells you anything, here is my wife two weeks ago in the wilderness probably 8-10 miles from a vehicle. She put the cast iron pan in her kayak and paddled it down the river to the campsite haha
  8. We don’t even have snow and they salt the roads, ?‍♀️
  9. Had a fun and somewhat eventful evening. It was sunny and calm all day at work, we go to hit the river afterwards. Drive upstream a ways and start fishing , sky turns black. I look up the radar and there’s a line of storms heading right for us. The wind gets kind of wild and blows my hat off, I run for a bridge and we fish under there for about 30-45 minutes in the crazy wind. It was hitting certain trees and knocking poofs of leaves off that looked like swarms of starlings. Well somehow it stormed all around us and never hit so we just went back to fishing. They were biting like sharks but I lost the lunker, looked like pushing 20 inches when it jumped and threw my bait, oh well I’ve lost bigger ones haha. Also got a nice shell cracker and found an insect larva that bear grylls could slice up and live off of for a month. Maples are starting to turn a bit, fun day
  10. If I skipped bluebird calm days, I think I would have missed about 26 of the last 30 No way on earth I’m sitting out that many, fish can’t just stave themselves 75% of the time
  11. I can typically catch dinner but I’d be near last place in any tournament
  12. This shows parts of a lake I’ve never seen mapped. Not the whole thing but some
  13. Ouch!!! It happens, I would have given up after losing the first two chatterbaits I bet you will slay em next time
  14. I about hit one of those main channel buoys in the dark back in my younger days, I rarely go over 10-15 mph in the dark anymore, usually more like 5-7 mph. Slow enough to where it’s a minor impact when ramping floating logs .
  15. Well, sounds like you’ve lived and charted exactly what the OP was wondering! one thing I didn’t see but may have missed, how big is the OPs boat motor (hp) ?
  16. You’d be shocked how accurate you can get by just sticking your paw in the water . I always try to guess before I look and it’s not hard to get a feel for , bout like walking outside and guessing
  17. I thought y’all might find this funny i was fishing in my canoe one time right before dark and listening to classic country music on my Bluetooth speaker. This jon boat was coming near me so I turned it down a little. Then he starts fishing a little closer and I’m like dang what’s going on here. I asked him if he was having any luck and he said no I was just trying to get closer so I could hear Hank!
  18. I think it’s a no brainer you shouldn’t move the fish, kind of a universal law. But it’s really not much of a problem , like always.
  19. I tried leaving them on my grass lawn, killed all the grass
  20. During the gatlinburg 2016 fire, the bldgs that were spared were the ones people blew the leaves away from . Also my foundation stays way drier when I blow the leaves away from it
  21. I wouldn’t say “caused” by bass, usually it would be the person at the steering wheel
  22. @Tennessee Boy, I wouldn’t say conspiracy, more of another in the long line of convenient scapegoats. Southern pine beetle, the Norris lake rockfish battle of the 90s, hemlock wooly adelgid, emerald ash bore, Asian carp, zebra mussels, you name it. Twra just had a former employee expose all kinds of misinformation they put out about CWD, you don’t even need a tin foil hat to find this stuff out. Here’s an image article for ya…….. they showed up at the whistle blowers house and took all his devices https://tennesseelookout.com/2023/09/07/former-tennessee-wildlife-and-resources-agency-biologist-agency-manipulated-data-on-deer-disease/
  23. What if the misinformation is coming from the ones wearing the green jeans??
