question about this forum. why do some of my post need to be vetted first?
If spammers would get a real job and people could be civil all the time, vetting would be totally unnecessary That’s pretty hilarious

Solo launching Jon Boat with no ramp and a small drop off and sand...Would this work?
Sand, no trees, hmmmm what to grip any way to drive a pole into the ground?? what about leaving the trailer further away from the water and hooked to the vehicle. Then some pvc rollers to get the boat thru the sand ?

I haven’t scrolled through all the previous replies, but I’m guessing I already suggested fishing from a canoe

my next madness in techniques.
I think kyoya fujita made a lot of money fishing that way this year on the BASS elite series. Lake Murray and maybe Champlain come to mind

Mojo bass trigon???
If you get the chance to meet Glenn in person, you would know immediately he wouldn’t pull the wool over your eyes! meanwhile, I had an hour free yesterday before I went to a football watch party and got me a bass amongst dozens of swimmers with a biospawn fluke style bait with the trigon rod and seviin reel………

Post a photo a day!
Any tournament angler in todays game will tell you, they would starve if they relied solely on winnings. They show up and push product , just salesmen

Post a photo a day!
Bet the Capt did. One of my guide buddies had a client fall out of a rowboat and die the other day. He had to do CPR for like 30 minutes until paramedics arrived. Then DNR showed up and drew blood from the guide to make sure there was no funny business. You also have to maintain a captain license . now on top of adult babysitting 50 hours a week, think of it like this. I can catch fish but I can’t make someone else catch them. Imagine if you had to get your co angler on fish 250 plus days a year without casting. @Captain Phil said it best, guiding is the worst way to make a living

My Dermatologist is bumming me out.
Most people live normal lives after getting the one kind cut out (can’t spell it, it’s got squish and oma in there ) melanoma is the one that will kill you, luckily it’s not nearly as common. My moms best friend died from it

Guiding is not stress free! I could write a book and I’m only 39 tournaments are WAY less stressful

My Dermatologist is bumming me out.
Hopefully you’re fine, they always slice and dice. I have several friends that have RELIGIOUSLY covered up and used tons of sun screen their entire lives and they get cancers cut out all the time. All of them under 40 years old one thing they all have in common is pale skin/Northern European blood

Cast iron pans.
we take the two burner on shorter trips where we can paddle back and forth to the car. This was 20 miles one way downstream with rapids so most of the space was allotted for….. beer Here’s some pics from island camping 2020 where the two burner and grandmas cast iron made the trip. The car was only a few hundred yards away for that one, creek arm of a reservoir with no rapids

Cast iron pans.
Just a little camp stove, the two burner Coleman wouldn’t fit in the kayak haha. She also cooked a 3 lb sirloin on that setup that day!!! thats our biggest pan too, she wasn’t going to risk taking her grandmas. she wants to be buried with that thing when it’s all said and done

Cast iron pans.
I could be off here but…….. I think they should have cleaned the rust out of them. I’ve seen people restore 50-60 year old cast iron that sat out in the yard but they had to “over clean” it for a few days to get the rust out my aunt gave me one from the 1960s that was rusted. I cleaned it out with steel wool for quite some time, lots of elbow grease. Then you have to coat them with oil and re-season them in the oven.
