  1. Had about 15 free minutes, figured I’d hike down to the dock. got two dinks! One on the first cast and one on the third, first cast catch has never been bad to me. Tried the massive tree that I know is underwater out from the dock and got stuck as usual, there have to be crappie in that thing

Lucky me definitely a fan of lagavulin as well, and I believe I’ve had a bottle of laphroaig cask strength. My brother traveled to the isle of skye and brought back talisker, that was good. now I’m gettin thirsty

  11. Funny you’d say that, the guy we rented to forever used to have an electric golf cart with monster mud tires to get down to the dock in the pic I posted haha
  12. I leave my kayaks at the bottom of the hill, and lemme tell ya it’s a heck of a hill with no pavement, just red clay and river rock
  13. I was fishing around the marina near our house last night and noticed a lot of Suzuki engines on the boats in the slips
  14. We were down at the lake, he’s not used to all the brazen creatures. That cat was extremely fluffy and black and white, thought we were about to have a skunk situation
  15. Bo is outside barking at stray cats, white tailed deer, and turkeys gobbling. These two will just wait here I guess
  16. Gill nets are still legal in plenty of places, chickamauga and nickajack lakes just for starters. They taught us how to run gill nets in fisheries science class in the early 2000s, The gorton’s fisherman still has to get fish sticks from somewhere.
  17. The shadow on this picture is pretty awesome
  18. Stan Smart was the guru around here. It’s a great project for retirement. Much like boat building, you’ve always got more to do
  19. Snagging is harder than it should be, I have about a 3% success rate……… the guy on the houseboat said he shot one with a bow yesterday
  20. I don’t think I’ve had the one you mentioned, my cousin got me some 12 yr I believe for my bachelor party, that was the first I had heard of it
  21. I was throwing into the fray and snagging them but about half were hooked in the mouth. I’m guessing I snagged them in the mouth because the rest is like tire rubber but who knows haha. The yellow bass actually hit the lure hard while I was trying to snag Buffalo under a dock??? What was he thinking
  22. Cherokee is the main tribe from my region, the reservation I mentioned was Cherokee, NC. It’s not far from Knoxville due south. The treaty my ancestor was violating was the watauga treaty, it was almost like a Declaration of Independence before THE Declaration of Independence. You can see where James cooper signed it on the bottom left https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~snipper/genealogy/wau/waupetition.html
  23. Dinosaur toothy creatures biting each other and not letting go, getting ran over by boats, causing injury while spawning, what do they feed these things???
  24. Dink ? alert the real miracle was that I got to fish this evening, haven’t been since the classic and I was starting to have serious withdrawal symptoms. Shakes, night sweats, nightmares, crabbiness, irritability, etc. I can’t remember the last time I missed a whole week or more like that . So if you’re gonna post dinks might as well make an interesting story out of it. I went to launch the little tiny kayak and noticed 3-4 buffalo spawning underneath the dock. I snagged one briefly and it took off and pulled the hook. So I then paddle along casting a crappie jig and some kind of loud noise is echoing all throughout the cove. We are near a marina so I just figured it was somebody running some power tools working on a boat. Well the noise won’t stop , sounded like a bunch of people beating pontoon boats and floating docks with a baseball bat . I paddled into the marina and the splashing and noise was deafening. Buffalo were spawning and splashing and jumping all over, it was wild. I caught 6-8 of them, fun stuff on light tackle. They had some tubercules or something like it all over them, easy to hand land in the kayak like gripping sandpaper. 6 lb tatsu is tough, I was ripping them up over dock cables with a spinning rod haha. Some guy that lives on a house boat in there came out to chat, he said he can’t hardly sleep when the buffalo are beating the boat like that also got another little largemouth, a green sunfish, and a yellow bass
