It’s pretty smallmouth dominant in Knoxville, there are bigger largemouth downstream a few hours (guntersville, etc) but I can’t drive that far just to fish after work

Trellis in raised beds worked really well for us a couple years ago, my wife planted some kind of peas and Japanese green beans that swallowed the trellis pretty rapidly. the square foot idea seems like it would work well, I’ve had many buddies that planted everything all on top of each other when lacking space, beans grew up the zucchini stalks, etc. This leaves almost no room for weeds to grow, they claim it’s a Native American strategy- Moderator Announcement

I’ve done this before, it’s a wild ride haha. It will still mark fish but you don’t really know where they are. Definitely set the range to how far you want to see if you try it, otherwise it will go 500 feet or more until it hits something it still can be a poor man’s FFS if you set it to flasher mode but it sure isn’t going to be crisp and clear like the live units now .
