  1. Looks like that might have hurt a little ?
  2. In that case, According to our water temps, pre spawn makes up spring, spawn and post spawn make up summer our waters are also never full pool until summer, some say the bass wait for the water to rise to move shallow, others catch bass in knee deep water all February with rattle traps ?‍♀️
  3. Interesting! The late 1700s were wild times in east TN, there was not much of an economy. it’s when Europeans first came across the Appalachians in numbers and many called it the “first frontier.” From most accounts it was just a lot of murdering and maybe cutting timber mixed with whiskey. sounds like some of the same stuff made it out west 100 years later, breaking treaties and fighting. moral of the story: let the natives have their fish haha. That’s what they do in Alaska, tourists can keep one or two fish caught with rod and reel, natives get a subsistence permit and can net them
  4. I never can tell if you are serious, but if you are interested (or bored), here are some more details
  5. I’ll let ya know if I ever get the chance to go
  6. My great great ( several greats) grandpa also violated a treaty with the natives, the watauga treaty. They got him back, shot him and then scalped him alive. John sevier and others inside a fort noted the screaming. id let them have all the fish they want if you’d like to keep your skull intact haha
  7. My buddies made so much fun of my cinder block they found me one on FB marketplace . Just ask your friends and family that know how to work that awful website
  8. The good stuff is pretty cheap direct from buffalo trace but you have to travel to Kentucky and they only sell you one bottle of one kind from a rotation per day
  9. Eh, at least we get a 6 month “pre spawn” haha ive had BR members from Michigan, Massachusetts, PA, etc post higher water temps than me in spring every year. In 2019 and 2020 (flood years), we had 61 degree water in downtown Knox on Memorial Day
  10. We don’t have any swamp water that sits still and warms quickly, most of it is coming from the bottom of 200 ft dams or off of 5-7k foot tall mtns . There are a couple free stone streams smallies have started but main flow is still cold. White bass and skipjack just now starting, black bass are usually more may/June
  11. A guy I used to work with rode around with a dog everyday forever, seemed awesome. I tried it once and my beagle buddy puked twice and wouldn’t stop howling when I got out of the truck haha Bo only goes on rides from point A to point B with no stops now We think he’s a bagel, beagle basset cross. Not really sure tho. You have him pegged, always leads with the sniffer
  12. Ours are bloomed and some have leaves, bass spawning is behind as always we still have to go thru dogwood winter, blackberry winter, all those other winters people make up
