  1. It washed down fried alligator tacos quite nicely
  2. They caught those two at the same time! I bet it was pandemonium aboard a bass tracker haha
  3. Had one at a restaurant yesterday for $3 on draft! Can’t hardly beat that price
  4. They mostly just overpay everyone to do nothing, then claim to be underfunded and short staffed. Typical govt
  5. I can fish as a non resident in SC and NC cheaper than I can get one at home
  6. That’s with the trout stamp, but yes it’s highway robbery
  7. TN is approaching $60 per year for residents if you get a trout stamp. Last year and this year were the first times in my life I didn’t get a trout stamp. My wife loves trout and we got totally skunked on them for about a year so I quit buying the stupid thing. I can still fish for trout in the national park without the stamp if I need to appease the wife I would imagine we are one of the most expensive states. The DNR pays social media influencers thousand of our dollars to promote hunting and fishing to out of state people so they can sell even more expensive licenses. Then they tell us we over harvest our turkeys………
  8. I’m in Florida catching dinks, meanwhile in TN…….
  9. I can’t even imagine! As a member of the boating community, we can’t thank you enough. I’m too chicken to be out in the ocean ? or even fly over if, thank goodness for the brave folks in the USCG
  10. You’re welcome, I’m sure that was lovely. Now back to the weather with Willard Scott
  11. Sunrises and sunsets at 7,000 feet are always pretty awesome @Jar11591 made such a good point that I added a video of a sunrise with cloud inversion but I’ll take a bit of a different route than other posters and say that the awe and beauty you find in other human beings is more important to me. Listen, I love nature and the outdoors as much as anyone. I’ve got a degree in it, I work in it, I play in it, I sleep in it, etc. But the moments that matter in life to me are spent with family, friends, and sometimes even total strangers. Relationships and conversations with your fellow humans are what life is all about to me. If y’all have never read the book “Into the wild,” I would highly recommend it. It’s about a youngster that drops out of college and burns all his money to go into the Alaskan wilderness. Only in total isolation does he finally realize that life’s experiences are more valuable and meaningful when shared with others. It hurts my heart a bit when I read and hear people say they don’t like other humans, want to be all alone, prefer company of animals to people, etc. We are all on the same team here folks, love each other ❤️ *this is my reflection.
  12. Yes sir!!!! Congrats
  13. I was scrolling thru my pics because I couldn’t really remember. Since all the pics are grouped by month and @A-Jayis buried in snow, I’ll do one or three pics and maybe video from each month and mention the lures january got a 20” 4.3 smallmouth (fishing with a buddy that has a scale) with damiki armor shad on 1/8oz round ball jighead (round ball jighead will be a recurring theme here…….. I mow through those things). It was cold, 20 something air 40 something water. 6 lb mono february Possible “pb” as the kids say (I don’t have a good scale or dry storage on board) on half a night crawler on a round ball jighead. This one was over 21” and taller/fatter than most of our normal SMB. 6 lb mono march Had a decent day on the ole zoom worm on a round ball jighead. There was even a rare appearance from a green bass. 6 lb mono april took a trip to dale hollow, got a 19” one with the same damiki as the January pic. 6 lb mono. Also got a couple 18” ones late in April on the Spro rock crawler on 15 lb invisix may nose hooked fluke bagged a nice 20” meanmouth, I saw it chase the bait down and engulf it on the clear waters of tellico lake, fun stuff. 6 lb mono june didnt get any 20”s in June but got a 19” meanmouth on live shiner I trapped (round ball jighead) and an 18” on a zoom dead ringer (round ball jighead). 6 lb mono july Spro pin tail on a round ball jighead, 6 lb mono August Something on a round ball jighead, can’t remember exactly what. I think it was a different color spro pin tail. 6 lb mono September this was a good month for smallies, always is. Got two 20” and two 19” in the shallow water river rocket in a single weekend. 1/16 oz black marabou jig got a couple, live minnows I worked my rear end off to catch got the others. Also got a 20” with a clown smithwick rogue. All on 6 lb mono October Another one close to PB status but I think it was a tad skinny for qualification. Darn near 22” though, live threadfin shad I worked hard to catch on a 1/16 oz round ball jighead with a #4 crappie hook in it. 6 lb mono. My friends have already taken my man card away after seeing the video so don’t try Honorable mention for October was an 18” with a bitsy bug. 15 lb invisix on a st croix legend tournament bass and abu 4600 november got a 20” smallie on a live threadfin shad on 1/8 oz round ball jig head. 6 lb mono december Normally one of my best months, it was a struggle. Got a couple 17” on various soft plastics on round ball jig head, the one in picture on a bitsy tube. I was trying to force an offshore bite that wasn’t happening yet all month and nada, had to hit the bank a few times to get anything
  14. If y’all have ever seen “A river runs through it,” there’s a scene where norm is asking his brother Paul (played by Brad Pitt) to move somewhere with him. Paul looks straight at him, pauses, and says “oh, I’ll never leave Montana brother” that is exactly how I feel but insert East Tennessee instead of Montana. I’m not leaving and I’ve never even considered it
  15. We’ve got a few places where the trout will only eat like size 28 midges, it’s a total nightmare
  16. Actually before livescope they just stared at 2D . Video game fishing has been around 30 years or more haha and after I posted that I read further down and you said the same thing….. my bad TNriver46 with a breaking news report from the department of redundancy department during the 2023 bassmaster classic you will see people catching smallmouth with spinnerbaits crankbaits jerkbaits and Chatterbaits, drop shot is rarely a big player around here
  17. Yep, done it a few times. Like @jhoffmansaid, don’t jump them with the bank of batteries, only jump with one 12v. (Disconnect the jumper wire between them so it’s no longer a “bank”) you can also give your trolling batteries a charge with your outboard if you get creative. It’s probably not recommended but Ive never been known for following recommendations
  18. The salt will rust the hooks like others have said, happens nearly overnight in the southeastern rainforest jungles
  19. Now that’s a donkey aka jackass……. Only one part of a mule hahaha
  20. I know lots of folks that night fish and their battery always dies from keeping the lights and graphs on
  21. I’m stubborn as a mule because I keep throwing these lures and never capturing anything
  22. We’ve got you covered
  23. Well that was a lot easier way to say what I said…… hahah. “Retention time” is another important factor. Some of our reservoirs empty out a lot quicker than others
  24. Sneak peak of my current location…… Awesome! Small world, if you see Steve and Nancy tell them hello haha
