  1. Mine is the ........ oh who the heck am i kidding I hate those stupid things
  2. That’s what I do. And I use torn up worms instead of z man worms. This should not be surprising as there are hundreds of ned rig threads on this site alone. People can’t get enough of it. My friends have pretty much quit throwing everything except neds. Works out great for me since my baits are different than what everyone else throws haha
  3. I like twitching a fluke along the milfoil edges near my house. And of course frog, oh the frog!
  4. Zoom fat Albert after the tail gets bitten off is a Great bait for ned head
  5. I don’t care for their plastics either. Chatter bait is good tho!! Hand poured baits made from plastisol are buoyant and a lot cheaper than zman soft baits
  6. Agree to disagree. I can’t imagine life without fishing and don’t wish that kind of life on anyone. I also let people walk right through my yard and sometimes I have to pick up trash. It’s really not that big of a deal
  7. Eh, if it’s only happened to you once I’ll just keep rolling the dice haha. A lot of things can happen, not worth me changing 2-3 split rings on every plug I own. So far I’ve never had a split ring failure but I’ve dropped a rod in the water and I don’t go around with glue on my hands
  8. The title of this thread keeps making this song play in my head
  9. I just figured there was no deep water in the mud puddles you hop around to!
  10. I would say a more common temp in the summer in East Tn is 86-88. We have nineties some but not the norm. Humidity I’m guessing is maximum all the time haha, I never check that. It’s a rainforest, feels like a lead blanket. Late august and September are the worst
  11. Fun trip after work, got a double and a perch for dinner
  12. I think the whole fish care thing they tout is BS now that they conduct massive 250 boat live well tournaments
  13. We grilled shrimp yesterday too
  14. My fiancé’s parents are reporting upper 90s from extreme northwest Ohio and they get it every year. That only happens once or twice a decade around here, and of course they get a lot of -15 and -20 in the winter with the wind blowing
  15. It’s really only the downtown Knox area that stays that cold or directly below any of the other dams . Downtown Knoxville is Cold fast water coming out of Cherokee and Douglas dams. The water coming out of Norris dam can be 50 degrees when the air is 100 degrees. Conversely the water coming INTO Norris lake on the clinch river is in the mid 80s
  16. Too hot for golf....... and too cold at hooooome
  17. Come on down for a float trip! There’s no flat ground where I live so it’s always moving
  18. Fun float!
  19. Awesome! I got to spend a little time out that way when I was in college, neat area
  20. I’ve paddled the caney but there were about 500 other kayakers (literally) so I haven’t been back....
  21. Hahaha! Yeah me too! Coldest I’ve felt was like -15 with wind and that was not something I could fish in. Sweating through my shorts isn’t so bad compared to that
  22. This one is the best! I read two other local ones for East Tennessee but they don’t have anywhere near the amount of members and topics that you would find here
