I think it’s Murphy’s law. I had a bucket mouth this summer jumping all around the boat and finally came off. Turns out the barbs had rusted off the frog hooks! And when you throw one around lily pads down in the Deep South? It’s destined for heartbreak. The biggest one in there will eat it, wrap around the pad stem, and stick your hooks into it and be free. Seems like a worm puts more in the boat but you can sure locate them blowing up a frog

It's the same reason my girlfriend has to order an appetizer, main course, and dessert every time we go anywhere. She's obsessed with the idea of anything food related. There is no explaining it, you just gotta roll with it and move on.

Hahaha. Have you tried pastrami or jerky or brats? I've never shot one but I like it every way I've ever had it. Then again I prefer wild game to regular food. If you don't like gamey flavor, you can always buy chicken and give your geese to me!

3 largemouth about 8lbs, one on Texas rig chartreuse pepper zoom swamp crawler, one on buzz bait, and one on a gold silver buddy smallmouth was probably my avatar fish with a rapala rippin rap but I’ve caught a whole lot of smallmouth about 5.5 lbs and I really have no idea which was PB. Seems like 2 or 3 of them ate rattle trap type lures

Let me know and I point you in the direction of some VERY soft flukes . I know a fella that hand pours them (and just about anything else except tubes). His nickname is softy if that tells you anything!! (These are not all my baits, just pictures of almost all he makes ). All baits float like a cork

A buddy of mine gave me like 6 goose breasts! Darn things are huge. My buddies like to cure them and make smoked pastrami so I tried my hand at it. Pretty tasty and it keeps well

Straight mono on everything until frog time. Then 50 lb braid on one big pole. Not having to tie leaders is glorious. Never had a knot let me down , I just like more fishing and less piddling

The difference? Nobody sees the ones that die naturally. Out of sight out of mind. I bet largemouth bass kill one hundred times more largemouth bass than humans in every scenario. They literally eat their own babies
