  1. Very sorry to read about your son Tom, all of us here on BR wish you and the family all the best going forward. Life isn't fair but we have your back
  2. @Chris244, Most excellent work. I need your services...........
  3. I wish I had read this stuff all those years ago hahaha. I always used the fiberglass resin and made one heck of a mess!!!
  4. Do you not own a bucket?? Haha
  5. Wow thats awesome. Let me guess, it rains a lot in Vilas county
  6. If meanmouth counts, then all waters in TN have 4 species of black bass (well all waters larger than a cow pond). I watched somebody fishing a tournament on lake Travis that was on a school of thousands of 1 lb bass, it was pretty wild. He kept showing the graph and it was almost blacked out with them
  7. Zoom finesse worm, zoom dead ringer, and any Small paddle tail Bait are my favorites for drop shot, although I’m fairly new to the technique . If your lake had zero leeches for thousands of years and all of a sudden a leech fell out of the sky into the water, a bass would eat it anyway.
  8. I would bet that was probably touted as a big win for “conservation” back then
  9. I was on your lake all weekend, I always get a kick out of seeing the vintage ski boats in different yards on the way into pt 19 and Anderson co Park
  10. Well the thought of crashing through it haha
  11. Zoom trick worms don’t float but I have a lot of hand poured trick worms that do. They both catch a lot of fish, drop shot shakey head Texas rig wacky rig, even jig or chatterbait trailers, it’s good for all of it
  12. I really like the idea of ice fishing but don’t know if I would have the cajoles to walk out there
  13. I purchased my home with the #1 stipulation being: it had to be less than 5 miles from a boat ramp. I could not and would not live much further than that from water. Not an option, never even considered it, end of story. I also have a family lake house on the water but it will be a while before I’m able to move in there
  14. That sounds like an awesome trip! Hit me up if you're coming through Knoxville and need some fishing spots
  15. I certainly don't enjoy watching BPT or MLF. Or the bachelor or Oprah. People telling me I'm wrong for having that opinion sure is strange but oh well, I still just don't watch. Hate is reserved for the Alabama crimson Tide and the Dallas cowboys (LSU and the Patriots also optional)
  16. Never go fast enough to rocket your boat out of the water during a storm haha. Take it easy to the nearest safe spot
  17. I’ve never thought about N or S when fishing. For every thing you read about bass behavior, there’s thousands of bass doing the opposite
  18. I like a 2.5 inch berkley gulp minnow on an 1/8 oz round ball jig head in winter. Toss at the bank and let it pendulum back to the boat while Twitching the rod tip
  19. Funny you would say 3-4 smallies. Every lake around here has lots of SM and LM. It seems that with the exception of one or two reservoirs, the SM is the bigger badder species. The guy that hand pours plastics for me is an old timey successful tournament fisherman. He said just about any tournament he could get 4 big SM but rarely got #5. That's why in the 2019 bassmaster classic you heard all the pros saying it would take a mixed bag to win. I want to say wheeler weighed in the only big limit of smallmouth for the whole tournament. 3 to 4 monster SM is common but 5 seems much more tricky. One of the exceptions to this will probably be the next bassmaster open on Cherokee lake where I would imagine well over half of the limits weighed will be 5 SM but not many over 4.5 lbs.
  20. +1. If you can show me a place with no fish then I will ........ well let’s just say there’s fish everywhere. Learned this lesson the hard way with a diving mask. Fished all day no bites. Decided to go for a swim with my buddy’s mask and there were smallmouth all around
  21. Working today but I fished all weekend in the cold with good success
  22. I bet that was awesome! I love waking jointed plugs
  23. Yeah the leak is why she called a roofer and the roofer said you need to get rid of the raccoon first haha
  24. diagnosis was correct
