Banning skin mounts
They have plenty of resources and want you to think there's nothing they can do. They drive 650000 dollar pickup trucks all over town and rarely get out. They are paid well with good benefits and most enjoy their job because they don't have much to do and are well compensated. I personally know 7 of them in my state, went to college with them and still talk daily. They've got it made and want you to think they are underfunded. That way they don't have to put forth a lot of effort. But that helps in cases of poaching, they would rather have a concerned citizen find the criminal so they don't have to do all the work

Or how many die naturally ? People think they automatically live forever if you let them go. Fish are a renewable resource

Congrats to him!!! Not only did he break his record but he also learned never to assume anything about bass behavior and go when you get the chance!

500 Bass
My cousins used to be in the same line of work as you and used to bring a clicker he had been issued to count people on canoe floats. Every time we caught a fish he would click it to know how many we caught at the end of the day. As many fish as you catch, you will need a TI-83 to figure it up

KY fishers?
The big south fork of the Cumberland got up to 80,000 cfs the other day, I’m guessing the upper end of lake Cumberland is a muddy mess

Lead Ban
In the last few years the amount of loons in my area has increased significantly. No telling how much lead is in our rivers but it’s a lot! The loons might be bringing it up to squam from down here and croaking.......

That’s what all the old timers say about the Night walleye bite here in the spring during alewife spawn. If you go out between 2 am and daylight, supposedly the alewives spawn on the surface (you find this by sound) and the walleyes tear through them. The technique is to parallel the bluff walls with a wobbling type jerkbait waking it on the surface. When you hear the first blowup, your instructions are to do nothing. Then when you hear the second blowup you reel in your fish.

Interesting . The Harpeth River is not exactly a fishing destination although some float it in canoes/kayaks and catch fish

Nah, all you gotta do is hammer down on the throttle and it’ll run out the back! Just make sure to have a plan when you come off pad

North vs South
Best of both worlds? Tennessee! Right inbetween, world record smallmouth and walleye but no ice on the water. Don’t tell anyone or post it on the internet though

Chickamauga event
I’m hearing they are moving it from next weekend to mid March. Not sure why other than flood but the weather isn’t guaranteed to be any better then. Could certainly be worse

Another tragedy, another reminder....
I have never swam in 40 degree water and if I ever do, you can have all my rattle traps because I'll be dead

North vs South
It seems like there is much healthier aquatic veg up North (probably because they don't poison it all the time). Healthier veg leads to better water quality. But, there's the whole ice and cold thing. No thanks. Additionally there are not many natural lakes down south outside of FLA

Another good day for smallies! The TN river is a muddy conveyor belt of giant logs so I went to another tributary reservoir that stays clear. There was some current though! Within the first little bit I got a 19” and 18” smallmouth, both chunky! The wind was supposed to be 3 mph but of course it’s unpredictable in the mountains. We toughed out some more smaller bass and perch before the trolling motor died and went to do more coats of drywall mud at the lake house downstream. - B.A.S.S. cancels Day 1 of St. Johns Elite event
