  1. Step one wear a life jacket . Step 2 stay near the banks so if you fall in you can get out very quickly. Good lure and technique suggestions above, I would add a small gulp minnow on a jighead and a small tube jig
  2. Almost all of the LMB/striped bass lakes in my area are good in winter. I'm fairly certain it's the same story in Alabama and Georgia. Stripers love the cold and often school on the surface in winter
  3. And not stopping draw plays straight up the gut
  4. And foles had a rushing touchdown . Somehow Philly plays better with foles I will root for a blowout on one condition..... If tom Brady is playing in it..... . Ditto
  5. Twice in my life I have hooked the same fish on two consecutive casts. I broke the fish off each time and my hook and worm were still stuck in their mouths on the next cast when I landed them
  6. I would say it's as good a time as any. That lake is super tough but can be rewarding. Or so they say
  7. Well that rip/sink can work too!!! It does sink nicely. I seem to get more just swimming it though , it doesn't sink that fast so you can go pretty slow
  8. The cold water jerkabait thing can be fun! The first time I got a bite when it was sitting completely still it was crazy! I was just standing there........in the sleet....... Watching slack line. All of a sudden it zipped through the water million miles an hour and I felt a strong hit. Guess what? 9 inch crappie haha. But, once I learned to leave it sitting still, on a SLACK LINE, I started catching. I was initially worried about not being able to feel the strike on slack. They hit it way harder than I thought.
  9. Those h20 baits are good stuff. Slow steady retrieve. This one is my favorite, the fish that hit it are usually bigger........ This is just the first pic I found
  10. So in the bigger creeks on my reservoir, There’s enough shad to founder all the humpback whales in the ocean. There are massive flocks of Ring billed gulls eating them up, even though I’m a tad under 400 miles from the ocean. I scanned over some (and netted some) and took some pictures of the depth finder. I also scanned over a bridge
  11. A man could spend a lifetime picking apart ky lake and still never fish it all
  12. It’s all about angler confidence most of the time. It somehow translates to better presentation. One day when the bite is good , like catching a bunch of buck bass running the banks in spring, experiment with different colors . It’s easier to learn about how they react to different colors on a day when you have a large sample size. For some reason I fish baits a lot more effectively when I have already caught fish with them in the past. It makes me keep them in the strike zone longer because I know it has worked before. Sometimes it works against you but oh well . I have caught fish Of all kinds in any water color with green pumpkin tubes. I have confidence that if there are fish and crawdads in the water, some of the fish will hit a green pumpkin soft plastic. Now on the contrary if I didn’t have that confidence , it would be much trickier to get that first bite. Like when I fish a spinnerbait.......
  13. Yes the eagles have a great front. Cox is a monster. I like defensive low scoring games myself but I’m going to watch no matter what. I would rather see a great tackle than wide open catches over and over
  14. Was the trolling motor still intact? My buddy turned a $500 dollar one into a candy cane in a split second that way. Here’s one for ya: I was pulling my buddy on an innetube and he starts hollering “shut it down!” So I did.......... forgot to pull the anchor up.......... it was surfing back there about halfway to him
  15. Well if the eagles were wide open all night and the saints were wide open all night, then who the heck plays defense anymore??? I miss it.......... hahah. The teams that had great defenses this season are all on early vacation
  16. @flyfisher, I thought foles played pretty well and is probably about to make $15 million per season. If jefferey catches a perfect pass that hits him in the hands you could be posting about another magical playoff run. What hurt the eagles the worst from my couch perspective was leaving 13 wide open all. Night. Long.
  17. The pool is frozen! No diving....
  18. That snow looks awesome Lonnie!
  19. That a good problem to have! A sword I’m sure most of Boston would gladly fall on haha Los Angeles, hopefully . And if that doesn’t work then Kansas City. The playoffs really take the mystery out of the saints silly rallying cry
  20. He threw a perfect pass, Jeffrey must have made a deal with the devil 1 straight super bowl loss???
  21. Same here. Fish fresh off the truck is taking candy from a baby. Most guys are headed home with limit at 7:30 am
  22. I left you out since you had already chimed in haha. If you need to know about big smallies in north Alabama/west tn, @roadwarrior is the authority.
  23. Well yeah if I lived in Indiana I bet my opinion would change hahaha
  24. @The Bassman, that is awesome! I love snow
