Keeping fall smallmouths in the livewell
Also the fishery can sustain all the keepers in the livewell being eaten, that’s why the limits are set

Weedless, noisy, surface baits
I should add, if your grass is water willow, then buzz bait is the ticket . It will pull right through it

Who Is Done Fishing for the Year?
Sad face. Pennsylvania sure looks a lot like East Tennessee. Same mountains just colder I guess

Keeping fall smallmouths in the livewell
Not something we have “all” done. The only fish that go in my livewell also go in my belly. I always have a camera (phone) to take a picture where I caught the fish instead of back at the ramp. Now if I got a monster and my phone died, a fish might have to be relocated via livewell provided it was legal of course. Luckily my boat also has a cigarette lighter outlet to charge my phone haha

Keeping hands warm - ideas?
One thing that will keep your hands warm all day while winter fishing....... fish in Florida! In all seriousness the only ones I have ever used much are the fingerless gloves with the mitten flap over , but if it’s above 30 i just go barehanded and take lots of pocket breaks and hand switches . If it’s much below 30 My boat gets a little upset about being in the water and I usually bank fish on a point somewhere. That way you always have the option of making a fire. Here’s a picture of the gloves I’m talking about , it was about 26 that day to start and my motor was mad at me for not bank fishing

How to know if you can afford or is getting a boat good?
I was really lucky and had zero debt out of college. I always thought having no debt was a great thing until I went to buy a house. I had to apply for a credit card and go into debt on purpose in order to get a loan . Pretty stupid process but what can you do ........ if you have no debt they think you are a weirdo

Weedless, noisy, surface baits
I had some of those once and fish ate the heck out of them and I guess too much time went by and I forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder. I even caught several out in open deep clear water with them. Buzzbait is my favorite but it’s useless in the cheese mats

Finally Finally Finally *pics added*
That is an awesome looking boat and those motors are always reliable from what I have seen. I would caution agaisnt buying a boat without driving it as I have been ripped off a time or two but I guess that's not an option up there

Your top 5 in 2017-18.
It’s kind of sad most big tournaments around here take 20 lb sometimes more to win and I can’t hardly break that mark in a calendar year....... thanks @N Florida Mike........... ha!

How to know if you can afford or is getting a boat good?
My coworker tells me a joke all the time : “camping without beer is just sleeping outside” I kind of feel like life without a boat would just be paying bills and taxes. Financing anything is going to cost extra, That’s just the price you have to pay for not having a lump sum laying around. I have probably spent more money on boat repairs than almost anything other than house and car since college. I would have much rather “wasted” all that money on boats than to have kept it in a bank. I have also been given a couple boats throughout my life (it pays to respect your elders!) so my opinion may be worthless but you can always make more money. I say buy two boats! And make sure one of them goes extra shallow!!!!
