  1. Water water everywhere. Since we don’t have true “lakes” our water doesn’t warm up quite so fast. Some smaller rivers without dams can warm up quickly but nothing like what seems to happen in natural lake country. From the perspective of someone who has only fished the top half of the USA a handful of times, I have noticed one thing. That long period of cold water makes those fish feed with reckless abandon when it’s warm. Our southern fish gorge all winter on shad so they can ignore a fishing lure whenever they want. I’ve even had tough days in perfect conditions with big live shad. I still wouldn’t trade it for that icy cold weather though
  2. When I read this thread title I thought “this is impossible.” But then I read that you catch fish with trick worms which I would consider a stickbait (in fact I would consider it the best lure ever). The muddy water shouldnt have any effect on them biting a trick worm over a Senko in my opinion. a lot of the places i fish are gin clear and highly pressured so the slow fall of a thinner worm is very effective
  3. I can’t catch much on moving Baits but I have been catching bass with bottom Baits since I was knee high. You can’t really move a bait on a slack line so I would say keep it tight while moving it and watch the line while its sitting still on bottom or sinking. A good way to feel more bites is to always be “weighing” the lure in your mind. By that, I mean every time you lift a Texas Rig, jig, or drag a Carolina rig or shakey head (or even lift a weightless Senko for that matter) with the rod, pay attention and make a mental note of what the weight of your lure feels like WITHOUT a fish biting it. That way when a fish does bite it, it will be different than what you have been feeling and it will stand out. sometimes when they eat the lure it feels like a wet sock is stuck on your line. Other times it feels like someone hit you with a ball bat
  4. Sooooo, does that Water just go from 32-52 in like a week???? Hydrology is weird in the north country
  5. Good looking largemouth! Even more impressive you got them on a spinning rod with 10/8 lb test
  6. Holy smokes tell me you got an individual weight on that fish on the far left. Awesome job, y’all are rockstars. Gotta love the TN river where a 17 lb limit puts you in 22nd place
  7. I am the wahlfof! Koo koo kachoo. You have exposed the myth!!! I use fly gear that is significantly less expensive, it’s all about how use it! In reference to Fly Fishing, my buddies say “still cheaper than a bass boat”
  8. We sell some of our customers pyrotechnics to scare them. It looks like a toy water pistol and it has two kinds of rounds: bangers and screamers. People usually enjoy chasing geese with them. I have also seen farmers use propane cannons on a timer but you have to constantly change the interval or the geese get used to it
  9. Waders on a warm summer day??? Yuk! Although I'm guessing wet legs aren't possible where you are talking about
  10. I grilled one very rare and it was good. Also burgers mixed with hog or beef is really good
  11. Congrats on the big bass and not "treading on me" -rattlesnake
  12. Is there buzz down there about getting Mullen back?
  13. So I have to admit....... I haven’t watched a pelicans game all year, only highlights. I’m sitting here watching them now and They are a pretty good team!!! I know a lot of their players from either college or past NBA experience but they are never on tv.
  14. Not a crime in my state (as long as it’s your property). If any animal of fowl causes damage to your property, you can take matters into your own hands as long as it’s not a T&E species. You do have to call fish and wildlife but nowadays they are pretty understanding. Goose burgers and goose steaks are Approved
  15. Hating on tennessee threads not appreciated......... @Sam, dontt you have bama to worry about? @N Florida Mike, don’t yall have Georgia to catch up with?? getting Tickled about whooping Tennessee will get you guys a 13th place trophy
  16. To me it just comes down to Jordan being better
  17. Actually, I hate to break it to you. As long as you keep fishing, you will lose a fish 3 inches from the bank again, net or no net. But you'll have better odds with the net! And if a fish comes off close to the bank, at least you got the fun part out of it!
  18. My first trip to Pickwick didn't go quite so well!!! The wind kept us in a narrow Creek for 2 days straight hahaha. Waves are crazy down there
  19. Ouch Sam. Ouch. We have sucked at every sport since '08, can't you hate on somebody else???
  20. I quantify it by Jordan never letting his team lose in the finals. 6-0 is good quantification Well you said he wasn’t a “make the guys around you better” type player so I wonder if you ever watched him play
  21. Start with 10 amp then go to 2 amp for batteries that have been drained pretty good. Maybe start with 2 amp if they were only lightly drained. If you only have up to 6 amp option I would start with that, then switch to 2 amp after it has been charging for a while
  22. I keep telling my girlfriend that her car is waterproof and insured for hail damage
  23. Check with your local wildlife authorities, it differs from state to state. Most States I would think as long as you had proper holding tanks you could keep a bass. You could classify it as a "bait tank" to get around the rule in Tennessee. They always have wildlife divided into classes and you are allowed to keep certain classes provide you have the proper cages, aquariums, etc
