  1. Even my mono was freezing on Saturday
  2. Thanks! I heard the hill was around 47 degrees so I'm guessing that's about what Norris is
  3. Fished in the sideways snow from about 9-1:30, it was cold but not @Bluebasser86 cold. If you're wondering why I'm wearing a life jacket on the bank, I was walking up and down cliffs next to the lake all day like in the last picture. Fish were quite active, Caught 5 but had a big one swipe my lure at the bank when I was pulling it up to cast again. The largemouth and one smallmouth not pictured (~16") took the bait right at my feet
  4. Ha! Nasa needs to let us troll with their underwater drones. It was pretty fun, probably going back tomorrow. Tough walking but the smallies should be hungry, high of 30 degrees
  5. Went bank fishing this afternoon and hooked two nice smallies. Lost them both! First one came off when I was trying to figure out how to get down to it, second one I totally botched and never set the hook. It still stayed on after a couple jumps somehow but eventually pulled off. But I did find a rod and reel combo and didn't get stuck in the muck! (came close once or twice)
  6. I know a fella that swears by watermelon flukes
  7. 66 degrees outside today, figured I would night fish. Not bad for January
  8. They might want to spawn inbetween zone 3&4 also if there are smallmouth. They like to make their nest up against a random log out in the wide open flats
  9. If it's still clear go with finesse or jerkbait. If it's muddy throw a crankbait and jig into the melting runoff flowing in (if possible)
  10. For winter it's a 2.5 inch gulp minnow. For summer I usually throw a hand pour that's a tad longer than a zoom super fluke
  11. Thanks fellas
  12. Sweet! I have still never ice fished. I've had to break it up with the boat and fished near the edges of It but never cut a hole in it
  13. @Darren. hate to see the season end for y'all but at least you made the playoffs. If you get rid of Taylor make sure to send peterman with him
  14. Holy cow that's pretty wild
  15. Got a couple crappie today. Water was frozen in a few places. If you guys could keep the ice up north that'd be great......
  16. Cool video man. I have only been to Michigan once but I learned very quickly that you better hold onto your rear end when a smallmouth eats your hook up there
  17. @slonezp caught 5-6 crappie and maybe a dozen bluegill in an hour, if you could get the bait to sink properly in the current they hit it every time
  18. I know an upgrade would help but Navigation was still possible before lowrance. One of the most dangerous things you can do where I fish is to watch electronics while on plane
  19. They were bluegill and crappie, I caught them. I don't need to be upgrading maps although it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I just use the lines for a general idea to avoid shallow spots and stumps. Staying somewhat close to the path you came in on doesn't hurt. I don't rely on it for accuracy just a general path. Methinks I should have just posted the bottom half of the photo, my intention was for people to see the panfish. I just like marking schools and being able to identify them by catching
  20. It has been an awesome unit. Black Friday deal for $200 I think a few years back
  21. Scott martin was pitching a drop shot all over the place with a baitcaster in the Mississippi River flw event
  22. I love swimming and I use a styrofoam pfd
