  1. I’m always reading, listening, and watching to learn more and more. My biggest problem, and I’ve struggled with it since I decided to become a better angler a few years back is, I study a map or say I’m trying this or that. This or that isn’t producing so I revert back to my old ways and start beating the bank! Not all is lost though. The Senko was my crack and that’s all I used (except a frog). I tried other lures forever but always went back to the Senko after failed attempts using other lures. I’m proud to say I’m around 4 years Senko free! ? I’ve learned new techniques since them and have really come to enjoy them. I threw a lipless last year in a long long time with a decent amount of success, and I’ve stocked up on more this off season. If I can give up the very addictive Senko and not have the urge to go back to it I know I can give up beating the bank. It’s been a struggle and I know to become a more well rounded angler I need to give it up.
  2. There’s been one time where I had JJs and by the end of the sub my jaw wasn’t ready to fall off. The flavoring is good but my jaw muscles don’t need a heavy duty workout to enjoy it.
  3. Do I ever miss Quiznos! There aren’t any mom and pop shops around here unfortunately. There are two Blimpies in our area and I think three in the whole state. I love the buffalo chicken wrap. Then I’d go with Subway as number two. Firehouse is pretty dang good! Jersey Mikes has potential but IMHO there’s too much bread. Jimmy Johns their sub bread is too hard for me so I’ll do a regular sandwich. I’ve never tried Potbelly’s, there are a couple in the big city. I’ll have to give them a try sometime. I can’t forget Arby’s market fresh sandwiches! That bread is absolutely awesome! I wish I could just buy a loaf a week. Their wraps used to be good but they changed the tortilla and it’s not good at all anymore. Their gyros are pretty good too.
  4. 44 and rain here tomorrow. Yup the white stuff will be gone.
  5. Looks like a white Christmas for the north country. We just got a dusting but doubtful it’ll stick around.
  6. I loved Oregon Trail! Hunting the Buffalo was always fun. Lol I believe I beat it once, but usually I died of starvation, some sort of disease, or a group of Indians took me out. ?
  7. They didn’t have how to books on catching dinosaurs back in my day. There’s no end to the technology these days! Good work everyone. I sure enjoyed shopping for him last year, the wife did too!
  8. I’m a power fisherman. I’ve tried slowing down and really struggle with it. I’m really going to make a true effort in 2022 to try my hand a finesse fishing. I rack my brain sometimes trying to figure myself out. I don’t have the patience to slow down when fishing, yet there are other things in life where I’m very patient and have been able to do finesse things with no issue. ?
  9. Oh I know! It’s all good!
  10. I was a Humminbird guy, actually wearing a Humminbird sweatshirt as we speak, but I’ve switched to the dark side and I’m a Garmin guy now! I’ve been extremely happy with my 93SV UHD units so far!
  11. I told this story a while back, a guy I used to work with is my mechanic. He’sa certified mechanic and is the mechanic for five lumber yards which is where I met him. I had an issue with my truck, he was three weeks out so the wife took it some place else. They quoted her $800 for plus, wires, coils, and plugs. Luck would have it my mechanic has a cancellation and got me in. He went through the diagnostic process and determined it was a burnt valve, not just in need of a tune up! About the same price, but I asked him who’s responsible for payment on a misdiagnosis? He said I would be. The saddest part of this is the place my wife took it to, is the most popular shop in town, it’s not a chain store, it’sa mom and pop shop but still it’s pretty scary for sure! I told him he can’t retire!
  12. Happy birthday, same age as my wife. I still have a few years to get there but some days I feel like I’m older than that!
  13. He’s past that stage now. She’s pretty bummed about that and this year is the first year he doesn’t “believe” either.
  14. Mrs. 12poundbass is in the Christmas spirit! The dogs, they don’t have a choice.
  15. With your vast knowledge of computers and technology it was a no brainer. The pressure is on you now to keep the site from crashing.
  16. I said pike on a bike, then I kept reading. Thankfully I kept reading. ?

After all these years that’s what my brain says when I read his screen name. Since this thread has a refresh I’ll say fish for all of a day and then revert back. ?
  18. Congrats man!
  19. The Grumpy Old Men movies are great!
  20. Three emergencies so far today, all broken poles. Thankfully we got our power back according to the wife. They were saying on the radio this morning, this frontal condition is stronger than the one that sunk the Edmond Fitzgerald.
  21. Annnnnnnd the power is out! The wind is howling here. I foresee a busy day chasing broken pole emergencies all day long.
  22. I’m sure the deer is saying, “I’m trying to get a drink at the pond and I’m getting eyeballed”.
  23. But you don’t feel bad?
  24. I didn’t see the driver but I’m pretty sure I was following Santa. I hope one of those are for me. If you’re wondering they are Vexus boats. I got lucky enough to catch a red light to get close enough to see what brand they were. And I took this picture at less than 5 mph, just past said stop light. Safety first!
