So I just moved into a rental house until we find a house or build and all my fishing stuff is boxed up. So I don’t know what all I have, so that means I basically have to start from scratch and with all the sales going on now is the best time to start over. Is this a good sales pitch for Mrs. 12poundbass? ?

I sure wish they had more than two colors to choose from on the RES. I think I’m pretty well stocked up on everything else.

I’ve thought about this quite a bit now that my son is getting older. I did a ton of stupid stuff as a kid! I did a lot of things my parents didn’t know about and things they did know about especially when the school called and said your son has been suspended or when the police show up at your house. We never did anything disrespectful or damaging to peoples property, or steal. My criminal and driving records are clean as a whistle (thankfully). I had a great life growing up, but I think I had a little too much freedom and my parents trusted me more than they should have, and didn’t ask enough questions. That being said you reach a point whether you’re an adult or a minor where you know what you’re doing and the potential consequences for your actions. I did a lot of dumb things, but I also think most do as a kid and to some extent it’s a part of growing up. If my son does stupid stuff (which he will) I hope he’s smart enough to not do things that could get him killed, seriously hurt, or in trouble with the law, and I hope he realizes the stupid stuff he’s doing and doesn’t do them again. If he does get caught I hope he’s ready to face the consequences.

A dry brine will give you more flavor, a wet brine will water down the flavor a bit. If you do a dry brine add a little baking powder with it for a crispier skin.

I agree with @Tennessee Boy keep it simple for the large crowd and experiment later on. I’d be the one to try something new for a crowd and screw it up and ruin thanksgiving.

I’m very fortunate that I have a company vehicle that I get to take home, so my personal vehicle gets about 50 miles put on it a week. My company vehicle on the other hand, I go through a tank every other day and average about 40k miles a year. I’d go broke if I had to pay for all that gas.

When I was a kid I used to love the sound of a couple beagles on the trail of a rabbit echoing through the spruce woods and even better the change of their howl when they saw the rabbit.

Reminds me of the land we used to hunt in NW Nebraska. I absolutely love that area and would love to live out there some day.

Yup we’ve gotten snow the past couple days. Nothing much that’ll stick around, but enough to let us know what’s coming.
