  1. Those of us in the utility trade almost always wear sunglasses. I’ve heard people joke “there’s Hollywood” and people ask why. It’s two fold. 1: Protect the eyes from debris 2: Protect the eyes from the sun even if the sun isn’t bright and beating down on you it’s still doing damage ?
  2. Welcome from the middle of the mitten (Montcalm county) You can tell it’s winter here, all the Michigan boys are jumping on here. Good to see!
  3. I’d like to try a small local weeknight deal sometime in the next couple years, but I have a lot of learning to do first. Watching Brandon Paulinuik and Scott Martin on YouTube this year has sparked my competitive side once again. I haven’t had that in over 10 years.
  4. I’ve always wondered too. He sure likes to email me quite often with good fishing tips. ?
  5. Me either. The stomach and throat continues to burn the next day....all day.
  6. Usually takes about 24 hours to get the code in order to use it. I’ve had it take as long as 3 days.
  7. Muskey is the only one around me that I haven’t caught that I have a desire to catch, maybe a steelhead.
  8. This is what I use and it’s worked so far for me. Pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it.
  9. Welcome from the middle of the mitten in Montcalm county.
  10. Well we got a little freezing drizzle yesterday and before we went to bed the weatherman said we were supposed to get 1” of snow. Woke up this morning to 5-6” of fresh snow. Great job weatherman! ??
  11. Shark knot or Trilene knot
  12. That’s quite the name. You fly fishing guys have a naughty dark side to ya! They do look good BTW.
  13. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll order a bigger piggy bank for this year. ?
  14. My goal is to crack the code of offshore structure fishing. To quit beating the fricking banks 5 lb smallmouth 6 lb largemouth Get better with my electronics
  15. I agree giving things up shouldn’t require a special day. You’re only going to give something up when you’re ready. I tried and failed a few times to give up chewing tobacco. I set days where I’d be done, those days come and went, then I woke up one day and said “this is stupid and I’m sick of it”. That was 5 years ago and I haven’t chewed since. Since you love buying fishing gear but have all you need, I think I can help you out. I’ll send you my address along with a list of gear I want. ? Congrats on the sobriety!
  16. I didn’t have cousins like this growing up, I’m glad 6poundbass does!
  17. Living on the lake ain’t so half bad. When the wind blows the this white pine makes it all worth while. This Pine makes the lake whisper to me and I love it!
  18. I played hockey through my teens and suffered a separated shoulder (grade 3 tear of the AC joint) . I was 17. I was scheduled rehab and went one time. I knew all and was ten foot tall and bulletproof like all of us were. I’m 37 now and pay the price for it! Listen to the doctors and your PT people! Please listen.
  19. We don’t have weather tech for our Buick but something similar and they are great! It takes near seconds to clean when the wife hits the car wash every other day thanks to the car wash pass she has. I’m not sure what my stepmom paid but she said it wasn’t cheap, but it’s money well spent in my eyes so far!
  20. Let’s see the finished product.
  21. I think it looks good. What aren’t you happy with?
  22. “Harvesting” could be seen as PC, but I think it’s more of a respect thing. I’m no hippie, tree hugger, or a PC person by any means at all. More the opposite. I think the term harvesting is more of a respect thing towards the animal you are taking. And harvesting just sounds better. My son harvested his first deer this year (which he did) sounds better and more respectful than ‘my son killed his first deer this year’. That’s my opinion
  23. That’s a funny episode of King Of The Hill. If I remember right it was Hank that was sold “special” fish bait. He was out fishing all the other guys and kept going back to the shady side of town to buy more from a guy on the street corner. Turns out it was crack cocaine and by the time it was all done the bass were addicted to it a jumping in the boat for it. ?
  24. My stepdad is the one who really got me in to fishing since my dad doesn’t fish so I grew up walleye fishing. We had a cottage on a lake in my area and would do a lot of pan fishing but walleye was the main target throughout the year. We’d make several trips up north during the open water season and eventually they bought property on Big Bay de Noc in Michigan’s UP.
