I used to go out to Nebraska deer hunting. There were usually 4-6 of us and we hunted a 30k acre buffalo ranch. We’d tag out every year and they were all quality bucks. Here in Michigan, land is hard to come by. My parents have 50 acres most of which is farmed and they are surrounded by Amish. Since the Amish bought all the land around them the deer are few and far between. My son hunts now so I let him have at it. We have a couple small chunks of land he can hunt. I hunted public land once during rifle season and that’s the only time I’ll do that. Nebraska really spoiled me. I do like sitting in the woods on a nice fall day. Sometimes it get boring but that all goes away when the deer start to move in, plus seeing my son getting excited and me be able to teach him what I know and watch him grow as a hunter makes it all worth it! Spring turkey I still do and love and landowners are more willing to allow you to do that.

Are you sure the Black Max was $80 just for the reel? Every place I’m looking online including Walmart it’s $45-60 and $70-80 for the combo. To answer your question, I’ve been pretty happy with my Kastking reels. They are in my regular rotation but they haven’t let me down yet. The rods are a different story.

I fished steelhead here on the west side twice in my late teens. Never again! Like you said, it was shoulder to shoulder on both banks. One kid unintentionally snagged one and was going to keep it. I thought he was going to get a beat down! Guys getting tied up with lines from guys on the opposite bank which turned into a shouting match. No thanks!

I don’t know if the lows He and I are experiencing are unseasonable but they are very welcomed.

Not that I’m superstitious either but maybe try keeping the name of the lake out of your posts too. We know what Lake Menderchuck is capable of producing so if you don’t say you’re going there…. Just a thought. 😁

I noticed some turning here too.

His back end was weak for a while. Sometimes he’d need a little help but once he got going he was good. Wednesday that all changed. The vet was impressed with his age.

True but theirs seem shorter. Hank was a Great Pyrenees and he was 13-14. The vet who put him down said double digits is good, teens, pretty darn good.

Those dogs seem pretty cool and I’d love to have one, but unfortunately their lifespan isn’t that long.

And that’s just what they’ll do, in the coming months. If it’s a late season fishing excursion for green bass or hopefully brown bass, or I’m in a tree stand. The Hiseas boots will keep my feet comfortable, warm, and dry. A lifetime warranty is some nice peace of mind too.
