  1. We received our first snow last night, a light dusting. The temps are coming back up mid week.
  2. Our cold front is about a day behind you. Back into the upper 40’s for our rifle opener next Saturday.
  3. I’d show you what I was drinking tonight but I’m sure you members who’ve been here a while know and for the new members, I’m sorry but they’re all gone! 😂
  4. Welp, my stepdad talked to their neighbor who has around 300 acres of good hunting land and they found 14 dead bucks over the last couple weeks. Dam EHD! 🤬
  5. If @WRB-2.0 says leave and come back, you leave and come back.
  6. Oh I know you do! Back when I was a teenager and real heavy into hunting I’d watch all the hunting shows and a ton would be in Iowa. I made four trips to NW Nebraska. There are some monsters there too.
  7. At first I thought you were calling me a troll, then I realized you were recommending I troll. It’s funny how words have different meanings these days. Funny you mention trolling. Last year my son and I were out and were blanking so we decided to move. I just put the trolling motor on high and trolled deep water with deep diving crankbaits. We could a nice pike on the first pass and made a couple more passes since I could see fish on my 2D and we caught a couple more doing that. I never really gave it much thought to actually troll in hopes of catching bass. We were just doing it screwing around and buying time from one spot to another.
  8. The only thing I know, the fish are in the water. Many of the good anglers on here say 90% of the bass are in 10% of the water. I’ve come to the conclusion that as I check off the empty water the bass just follow the back of my boat around the lake.
  9. Awesome to hear for the both of you!
  10. Bills win! They’re looking a lot better and I’m sure glad they’re running the ball more. It came down to the wire and hitting the goal post towards the end sure made my heart skip a beat.
  11. @Jigfishn10 no love notes needed. If you can’t log in tomorrow, you know why. 😉
  12. @Glenn does it to make sure us Mods aren’t sleeping on the job. 😁
  13. I’d have a shoulder mount done too. That’s a dandy!
  14. The Bills played the run game finally and dominated! Go Bills
  15. Well, the season is officially over and they ended up with a record of 6-3 which is the best record in 5 years for the high school football program. I’ve said for years this group of kids will do something special. He was called up to this team and fit right in and helped them out! A freshman called up to JV and also saw playing time at varsity…. I couldn’t be more proud of this kid!
  16. Walleye love jerkbaits! 😎
  17. It this isn’t the state pushing this, it’s one person on a lake association and the sheep are following. Now I get the representatives are supposed to listen to their constituents. Hopefully in this case listen to science as well. So theoretically a group of homeowners could say they want their section of a state highway changed from 55mph to 25mph even though science and safety say it’s a terrible idea and the state is going to rollover? Not a chance!
  18. Ok, after reading @A-Jay post and @MIbassyaker post and link I’m up to speed. I don’t see how this could even be a possibility since these are public lakes that are controlled by the DNR.
  19. I get that @gim but a few years back they opened up C&R to all year and I haven’t heard anything about numbers dwindling so again, what’s the point?
  20. When I first read this I wondered if you read it wrong. Then it hit me, before the change a few years back, C&R was allowed in what third Saturday in April correct? Something else hit me, March is really no sweat off your back up there. So really, what is their point in this, for most years this is really going to impact what, three weeks?
  21. Crop damage permits that farmers can get. My son harvested one last year mid August. The farmer had 20 tags. They get into those beans and can’t stop themselves from destroying them in no time flat.
  22. What’s your budget? Id highly recommend a 7 or 9” screen as a minimum. I’ve had a 5” and 7” and for me they were too small. If you want to keep it simple you’re looking for 2d sonar with mapping. That’ll show you fish, baitballs, depth, temp, bottom hardness, etc. With the mapping, it’ll do what you’re looking for. At the very least and if the budget allows, I’d try and get 2d and Down imaging. YouTube is your friend and going to a store that has displays you can play with are highly recommended.
  23. Yup, boots and a rope. Sandals in the summer.
  24. Welcome to Bassresource!
