I’m almost exclusively a braid guy and I have braid on some reels that is several years old. Don’t worry about the age, just trim back the areas that are frayed.

I watched a show about urban legends and that was one of them. Interesting story though that has seems to stand the test of time.

Yup zero lines card is what you need. Garmins will take an SD card. I can’t speak about the Humminbird units and sharing Auto Chart data but I’d guess you could share them from one unit to the other. My Garmins do.

I don’t know how you river guys run them without being a nervous wreck the whole time. I know I would be!

I’m not educated on saltwater at all but obviously salt is very corrosive having seen what it does to everything here in Michigan. Here’s my two cents, the experienced members are saying galvanized trailers, saltwater trolling motor, get rid of the carpet, and recommend getting a saltwater motor. A tracker 175 TXW has none of this. It sounds like you’d be better off looking for something else or you could easily have a giant money pit and/or nightmare on your hands.

Back in the 90’s there was a squadron of them in Michigan and they’d fly over quite frequently. They are pretty impressive. Obviously I never heard that gun in person but I could listen to that widow maker bark all day! ??

I never attended one but read about them. If I remember correctly the attendance started to dwindle, it was difficult logistics wise to be able to round everyone up, and people backing out a the last minute all contributed to the end of the BR road-trips.

I have a guy I work with who is a retired LEO of 25 years and he going to start making his own shine. He went to the extent of asking a FED he knows and he said “yes” it’s absolutely illegal but they aren’t out looking for the small time guys and aren’t looking for stills especially in our area, BUT if things go south (blow up) you’re going to get busted. For the small time guys it’s a mistermeaner. So take it for what it’s worth.?
