Juniata River---The Sequel
I went out again last night, got back home late this mornin. I was throwin the same strikeking spinnerbait, modified to my like'ns. I caught a total of 17 smallies, totalling 28 pounds and 10 ounces. 10 of them were over 2 pound, missed gettin a pic of the 10th one, while gettin the camera, he fled the scene. Heres some random pics. Not the best pics, but they're all over 2 pounds, all over 15 inches also, very fat!

Juniata River
I was out all day with a buddy there today. I started out throwin topwater, then moved down, I eventually found them on a shakyhead. It was slow untill about 8 tonight, or last night i should say. I tied on my favorite night time spinnerbait, a black strike king 1/2 oz/ w/ a colorado blade. 1st cast brought in a 2 pounder. Then after a few minutes i switched over to a jitterbug, 1st cast, had a 2 pound-2 ounce. Then I got another on a spinner, she went 2 pound 8 ounces, then another that went 2 pound 5 ounces. I ended up with 7 fish weighing in at 13 pounds and 6 ounces. almost a 2 pound average, not bad in my opinion. I also lost my pb. > >. But, i know he's there. Heres the pics of the 2-8 and the 2-5. It's late, or else i'd post a more in depth story. 2-8 again 2-5

My first boat....
is a 12 foot gamefisher! I found it for 50 bucks with only a minor dent. It is small and unstable, but i'll be the only one in it most times. It is being worked on, replacing the wood in the back, gettin materials for decks, etc. I am so happy! :)

HOLY CRAP; LOOKS LIKE AN EARLY FALL IN NORTH EAST
Muddy, the water has been colder this year than last year everywhere i've been. Yes, fall is coming early this year. Our lakes are averaging about 75 degrees for a summertime high! It's hard to beleive in global "WARMING" when it's getting "COLDER".

Cowans Gap
I had a so so weekend at Cowans Gap, dad and stepbrother had a good weekend on the other hand. I had a bunch of small 13 inchers. Stepbrother had the big bass Saturday night, we guessed 3 1/2 pound I think......my dad had a great day today, caught a 4 1/2 pounder, and 10 minutes later caught a 4 pounder. So, all in all it was a great weekend! I also tried some homemade lure scent, in my opinion, it worked. Heres the pics Stepbrother Sean (basser89) Dads ALL FISH WERE RELEASED UNHARMED

Snakes anyone?
I dont do anything special with them. We keep the really big ones just to show. Yes they are black rat snakes. It's fun to search for the skins, and look for the snake that shedded them, like that 6 footer. The snake in the last pic is a baby, he was about 2 1/2 feet. Captured this a while back!

Snakes anyone?
It's that time of year to go look for snake skins. I was out for an hour today and got these. Biggest one is 6 foot, the others are around 4 1/2 and 5 foot. This guy kept his eye on me!

Whats YALL's favorite Grubs?
I like Zooms Fat Alberts. They are awesome for smallies and i've caught some largemouth on them. I prefer green pumkin, cotton candy, and smoke pepper colors. I rig 'em texas style on a 1/0 hook with 1/16 ounce weight, or split shot them, or use 'em as spinnerbait trailers. Walmart Carries them, and I think they are only 2 or 3 bucks.

PB Bluegill!!!

PB Bluegill!!!
I put him back. The water temp was low 50's, but it was a private pond that I had to beg to fish. And he did put up a good fight, i thought it was a bass till i pulled him from the cattails.

PB Bluegill!!!
Caught on a 3/8 ounce mirror glow spinnerbait. Unsure of length or weight, but he was definetly my PB! Butt of the rod to reel is 10"

Tips on night fishing
I think crankbaits is one of my all-time favorite nighttime lures. In the river I use crankbaits the run deep enough to hit the rocks, when I hit a rock, I give the rod a quick snap, then a few second pause. They usually hit it when I start to retrieve it after the pause. I prefer slower crankbaits, usually a rebel wee-r, all black.
