  1. It's what I use for my crig. Love em
  2. I'm a big fan of the berkley cutter 110 and 110+ but kvd hard baits to seem to catch fish just as well as the others.
  3. The frog could be the angle you are not use to, sitting in the water pretty much in your yak.
  4. Your kayak is acting as a shock absorber, use straight braid, and really cross their eyes when you set the hook. And set the hook straight up
  5. I've thrown chatterbait and spinnerbaits side by side and a lot of times when one isn't getting bites the other is. If neither is getting bit then a swim jig is what I'll switch to. Spinnerbait is better around wood and better in deep water for me.
  6. 30-50lb braid is my choice. With a leader. That way you have all your presentations covered. If not braid them 12-15 yo-zuri or p-line cxx
  7. Looks very similar like the menace. But the ribs on the body look more dominant and also the flippers look longer. Looks like a good trailer regardless.
  8. If fishing from a yak I'd use straight braid. No stretch. The weight of the fish and velocity of the toolset will move your yak and you will have less energy in your toolset so the no stretch of braid compensates for that

Still fishing the same small pond with the same ugly stick...11 years later
  10. 96 regular temp, 105-110 heat index, here in southern indiana. no outside activity for me. looks like I'll be putting masking tape up for the little ones room so I can paint this weekend. Yippee! Still better than a heat stroke though.
  11. Don't forget about the refurbished rods on dobyns website. They had a few swimbait rods and 765flip for about 30 dollars off. Some were in like new condition. And knowing dobyns customer service they would have to be nearly new.
  12. As far as line goes, p-line cxx. I know there are better casting and more manageable lines out there. But like you said, I always end up with some in my cart
  13. 20Lb p-line cxx on a cathunter combo from wally world. Like 25 bucks
  14. Daiwa tatula ct. 98 bucks with free shipping from ebay
  15. It's about the lures you use, not the fish you are fishing for.
  16. Any fishing knot will work great, IF tied correctly.
  17. I have 4 it's and don't have that problem. It may do it for a handle turn but not much. Maybe once an outing.
  18. Underspin with 4-5 inch swimbait?
  19. We have a small closet on the front of our carport, I keep my fishing gear in there and haven't noticed any problems. Not ideal. But it works for me
  20. 2 frogs-one white belly, one solid black. Pack of senkos-color doesn't matter. 1 pack of #1 wide gap finesse hooks 1 pack of 4/0 g-lock hooks. Pack of rage craws-color doesn't matter. Popper-bluegill pattern. 5 1/16 ounce jig heads. 2 inch curl tail grubs. Stringer for bluegill/crappie. Filet knife in my truck for the bluegill/crappieon the stringer.
  21. I trim mine to the length of the frog and make one leg just a touch shorter. I do it because it makes the frog glide if you pause it while walking it and also helps me with short strikes. Fish are more likely to get some hook in their mouth with the trimmed legs rather than get a mouth full of legs and not hook.
  22. What about the original brush hog for the famous category? For me (26 years old, bass fishing for 16+) it was the first creature bait I ever threw. And still throw it religiously now. Also it can be rigged a few different ways which helps its credibility imho. Flavor of the month is tough for me because I don't play much into the hype of new baits. I stick with what works for me in the water I fish.
