trailer tires
They werent brand new and when i got back, they werent at full pressure (slow leak i noticed the last day but not serious) so im sure that had something to do with it as well.

trailer tires
To this point. Driving style/conditions matter. I bought the cheapest walmart tires for my little boat. Reason being I never thought at the tine that I would be traveling more than 50 miles/ interstate speeds. However I had an opportunity to go up north 5hrs at interstate speeds. When i got home, my tires were practically bald. so there is something to be said for driving conditions and tire quality.

Small boat battery setup
How wide is it. Looks narrow like mine. It can fish two people if you arent standing up alot, but it isnt the most stable thing.

Small boat battery setup
Ended up just picking up a second size 27 everstart from wal mart. I’m still in the process of figuring the best location for the batteries to maximize balance between running the outboard and being on the bow trolling motor. really enjoying the motor itself. Does exactly what i want in current.

When Pros Write books, it seems they make info fit how they fish;)
Definitely with smallmouth, i catch more jerkbait fish using a faster retrieve, as long as the water isnt super cold. When I read Seth and KVD talking speed, I think smallmouth. That may have something to do with it. Having said that, i have caught clear water bass on spinnerbaits and straight braid moderately retreiving the bait. so clearly the whole natural thing is not a steadfast rule. another thing to think about. These guys are about probability and efficiency. Its not that they cant get a fish to bite on a methodical, slowed down approach, its that they can get more bites by fishing quickly and covering water. Just like there are alot really good baits that dont get used in tournaments, the same goes for techniques.

Wacky Worm
Wacky rig is always in my bag of tricks. Its what I go to when i think they want a slowed down presentation, not looking to chase because i can make it look like something struggling/dying. Skmetimes it seems like they prefer that style of presentation.

You ever wonder if these guys who only fish the same few spots on rivers but constantly post giants are catching the same fish over and over?
Ive been catching 15-17 in smallies off one small stretch this year. (Not giants, but still nice fish). In 3-4 spots on the spot. Ive thought this, but in examining them, they do not appear to have been hooked previously.

Never underestimate the 5" wacky rig
Im big on the o-ring. Also, dont be afraid to use a smaller hook. Same thing goes for the neko rig. In my opinion, a 1/0 hook is overkill. If you oring it, the hook doesnt have to push through plastic.

Never underestimate the 5" wacky rig
I only ever wacky, you all t-rig it as well?

Never underestimate the 5" wacky rig
Never a first option but always in my bag of tricks. I’ll wacky a 5” finesse worm as well. Dont be afraid to dropshot it wacky either

Clear Coat Q from a non-builder
While this is an option in a pinch, i have tryed Sally Hansons on hardbaits, jigheads and spinnerblades and wasnt impressed. Works great on thread though. The cheapest option would be polyurethane but You dont get the eye popping finish of others. it is durable though and super easy to use. Dip and hang and you are good to go after it cures. Kbs is reasonable. But there are care considerations so it doesnt gel and ive had unpredictable dry times. Ive been playing with UV Resin but im still working out some of the kinks on that. Bob smith 30 min apoxy isnt bad for me but I dont enjoy working with it. Definitely durable and looks good though if you get the coating right. i bought some no name autoclear to try. Ill be experimenting with that next week while im on staycation.

Is ML enough?
I would say its definitely enough rod. Look at the weight rating, match your line accordingly and you will be fine with neds, hair, wacky

Summer spinnerbaits
Or upgrade your blade size to weight ratio. I can run a 3/4 oz spinnerbait in 1-2 ft of water using a #5 willow and not hit bottom on the initial fall, so unless your grass is at the surface, you should be able to stay out of them.

Large hair jigs summer
