  1. There's one of these idiots at every tourney. Another of the many reasons being a co angler can suck. I've had to ride with a few of these morons and they have to run 100 times more than anybody else because usually their fishing skills suck worse than their driving.
  2. I saw some study where more than 90% of the prison population had been physically disciplined as children. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I got butt whippings daily and a bamboo stick across the knuckles my entire childhood. Punishment was not a deterrent for me. My brother on the other hand was smart enough to see my beatings and he did not do anything to warrant any discipline.
  3. I've had to use the string trick more times than I'd like to remember. One time I was fishing alone and I couldn't press down and yank at the same time So I tied the line wrapped around the hook to the boat cleat, push down with one hand and jerk the other hand down and away. This has become my preferred method as there is nothing worse than when the person pulling the string doesn't yank it hard enough. The string trick is great unless it doesn't work than it hurts pretty good on each of the failed yanks. The only time this did not work is when I buried a treble in the finger thru the nail like @moguy1973. Then I used the pliers+cussing+crying solution
  4. I'm partial to the evergreen shower blows topwater Seems like everyone from florida mentions fishing a devils horse so I'd try that too.
  5. I'm gonna guess I've spent in the neighborhood of 30-40 hours fishing the ledges on the Chick Probably about 25 of those within site of the power plant KVD's winning spot is a community hole too Not too many secret spots on the Chick They have these 3-6 hour "dogfight tourneys" everynight and there is no less than 15 trails running tourneys on that lake. Those college kids from Bethel fish them all and thats part of why they have been so successful I fished a tuesday night dogfight a few years ago and Wheeler, Strader and Michael Neal were all fishing it.
  6. Lambert said if you ever see him by the shoreline, stop cuz that means he's broke down. ? Dude, lives out there on the ledges
  7. This is my technique. Once it starts to bleed pretty good it stops itching.
  8. Yeah, this was a back and forth battle all day. KVD stopped playing His poor official should have just kept standing, he looked like a weeble wooble bouncing back up as soon as he sat down
  9. He knows once you get back where I'm at the "deliverance"music starts playing
  10. still happens in TN today
  11. I've got a gem on a public lake and everyone overlooks it because of how shallow the water is I went thru about 15-20 toads yesterday once I got back there. About an acre of 3 foot or less water that is a skinny shallow creek 9 months of the year This one blew up under the bridge and the echo made it sound so awesome!!
  12. Thats not a yamamoto bait, I know of. He was shaking the bait while slowly winding it at a specific depth. Tiny bait caught a couple of 6's and a 7. that was a masterclass out there
  13. Anybody had a bacon maple glazed donut?
  14. When I was tournament fishing I found that many of the better spots were the tiny ones that the shoreline gave no indication they were there. Some sort of deeper underwater depth change. This is where the good mapping programs shine with their detail.
  15. That feeling as a fish wakes towards your bait often makes me set the hook too fast. Great job!!
  16. I guess I'll be the one to say it, I'm a jerk. Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. #allmyfriendsareonline
  17. My former tourney partner swears by megastrike. He puts it on every lure and religiously reapplies. He says it might not be the reason for every fish he catches but he wont let it be the reason why he didn't catch a fish.
  18. Great advice so far. That underwater point WRB mentioned in the top lake(looks like a lizard head) has it all with a side with flatter drop off, and a deep drop off, with a little "bump" off the top side that drops straight to the deepest water in the top lake. I also like down the west side there is a smaller flat area less of a point but more like a bump that drops to deep water after 10 feet. I have a seasonal game plan and then check my electronics to see where the fish seem to be located Then I try to find structure and/or cover at that depth.
  19. Not sure how the heat wave is missing us but we're usually being bbq'd right about now. Gotta plug the state when I can, football and then basketball season are right around the corner
  20. Have I ever mentioned I love East TN ? Here's the Knoxville 10 day.
  21. Thanks for the laugh and congrats on 5000 posts as this one was hilarious!!
  22. No snap for me. Oval split rings and tie direct. If I'm fishing deeper cranks I have different ones tied to different rods.
  23. I gained a lot of respect when he fished the entire FLW season without using his electronics. I believe he finished 2nd in AOY that year. Said he got caught up trying to fish deep and was uncomfortable out on the ledges went back to fishing shallow and dominating https://majorleaguefishing.com/angler-news/2015-07-13-no-patterns-no-transducers/
  24. I like the added weight of the soft plastic for casting distance I'm in the take the skirt off camp
  25. My dad uses the saying "cant fix stupid" and it applies too often at boat ramps
