That is what makes it easiest to take care of my family and set them up for a better future. If I was young and without a family, I'd still choose the higher paying job

Yes, however like everything in fishing there are times and situations where one is better than another I fished lake erie for the first time and was told to bring the smallest line I had as we would be drop shotting all day. I spooled up with 4 or 6 lb test mono. My boater was smashing them and I didn't get a bite until i picked up one of his rods with a higher lb test flourocarbon. From that moment on we both smashed them. You will see many people who fish lake erie and have great success with mono My experience was different and shaped my opinions. Was it the fish being able to see or not see the line or was it my ability to detect bites better with flouro? I'm not sure but I've never had confidence with mono since. Smallmouth VS largemouth and clear water VS dirty water is usually when I make my choices

I built a box for the deliveries to be placed inside of. The packages I get are worth the tiny bit of extra time and effort for me. I try to leave as little interpretation to the "lazy idiots" as possible As for my regular carriers go, they seem to like the ease and convenience of knowing where to put the packages. Plus once a year I hang my lunkerhunt spider on the bottom of the lid for a laugh

Right now at my lake the shad are grouping together by size- In lots of pockets and channel arms you can find 1 and 2 inch shad Fish there and you may get a decent bag Find the creek channels and pockets where the 4 and 5 inch shad are grouped up and you increase your chances at catching larger fish. Although, I catch plenty of 12-14 inch fish that are spitting up 4 inch shad. So I like trying to target the areas I can find the larger shad grouped up which means a lot of graphing in and out of pockets, points and creek channels Then using larger baits to match what is being fed on

This is an age old complaint. Everybody complains about the high costs and the low payouts. Then some rich guy said he was gonna create his own trail > get rid of weigh ins and entry fees He promised sponsors would dump money into the anglers because he was going to give them so much exposure That pipe dream ended after one year and anglers were back to paying entry fees and sponsors were not paying anymore for all the "extra views" they were getting on the discovery channel. You'd think in the 70 years of tournament fishing all these experts/complainers would have been able to build a better tourney trail

The value of having someone teach you in your boat, with your electronics for your specific situation is worth a tip IMO. Now if he was worthless or rude then just the cost of dealing with him.

There's a guy that fishes tournaments at Norris and he donates lures to me every year. He's turned me onto some really good things I would never have purchased myself. A short list includes Shower Blows topwater, Whopper Plopper (x 3), Jackhammer(x 2), S-waver swim bait, Spro rock Crawler(X2), 6th Sense deep diver and quite a few smaller poppers. He's got to be the worst caster of all time, probably fishes night tourneys and he ties everything with the cheap snaps that have the 2 prongs sticking out. I don't know who likes the guy more me or the bait monkey!!

There is always a glimmer of hope and then right back to normal

I think Randy is crying because guys like the googan squad are filthy rich from fishing and he's just another wanna be pro struggling to get by. He has probably seen his own sponsorship dollars reduced and younger guys get money that he doesn't think that they have earned. (ironically, he'll probably see a bump now that he's got a youtube following) The corporate money is there and was enough to support 4 major tours - BPT , BASS, FLW and the NPFL. (Although Boyd's pipe dream about being able to attract enough sponsorship dollars from non endemic businesses to eliminate entry fees went away as soon as times got tough/covid) But I agree with 4 tours of anglers and sponsorship dollars going to social media anglers there could be less for each individual. Although I often wonder how many more fishing related companies there are now? Googans may have taken some sponsorship money, but now they are dumping it back in too. Everything is evolving except Randy's POV -Whopper plopper isn't successful anymore because everyone is throwing it - The spinnerbait and buzzbait almost fell out of their rocking chairs they were laughing so hard

That weasel Art Modell stole that team from Cleveland. Then there was the Super Bowl incident where 2 guys from Akron were murdered in an incident with Ray Lewis' and his entourage.
