  1. I knew I should have paid better attention in biology class
  2. I opened the B.A.S.S. site this morning and this is whats on the front page!!
  3. Awesome pics, thanks for the share!!
  4. I've got a 16 foot Crestliner and I run a 101 36 volt trolling motor. (I used to fish electric motor only tourneys and actually ran 2 101's) Never had to worry about having enough power. Never wanted something less.
  5. I saw in a different article where 2 of the guys were not wearing life jackets and the other persons did not inflate. The story has gained attention due to the suit and the recently released video, put forth by the publications Salmon Trout Steelheader and Angling Oregon, the latter of which is a website operated by McMahon. Later in the video, McMahon stresses the importance of wearing life vests. He and Maess were not wearing one. Durham wore one, but it did not inflate, The Oregonian reported.
  6. Good luck to you!! You said in an earlier post that he was your best friend and a role model as well. You sound like you have some goals moving forward, I'm sure that he would be proud that you are honoring him in pursuit of those goals.
  7. Good luck to you!! Are you bringing your hot ice fishing lure?
  8. Included the link to save time from searching http://americansportfish.com/articles/37-tracking-the-tiger-tiger-bass-and-their-growth-in-the-southeast
  9. I'm going to make a PVC rod holder for my garage. Just not sure which one a quick google search gives a few good ideas and different types.
  10. 1. Poes 4400 cedar crankbait 7-1 2. Poes 4400 cedar crankbait 6-15 3. Poes 4400 cedar crankbait 6-11 4. Poes 4400 cedar crankbait 6-5 5. Rapala DT7 5-11 All caught the same day for an almost 33lb 5 fish limit. I broke the Poes crankbait bouncing it off some rip rap later that year. Never was able to find one that felt the same. The DT7's were awesome for me in colder weather with it's tighter wobble.
  11. I'm going to take the underdogs: Vikes and Jags. So 0-2 for me.
  12. We had a big rain one spring and I was fishing where 2 creeks intersect. I throw a Sammy and after a couple of twitches get a huge blowup and as soon as I set the hook, I broke off. Lost 3 Sammys that day and 2 Pointers but did land about half a dozen stripers(Rock fish is what they call them here) in the 15-20 lb range. Expensive but definitely a good time!!
  13. I'm also in. Good luck to everyone!!
  14. I'd try a jerkbait with longer pauses in the same section of the water column that you are marking fish on the depth finder. If you are shore bound I'd fish a small finesse worm on lighter line
  15. The Jags won 30-9 in October and their was a bunch of noise concerning play calling afterwards. Big Ben threw 55 passes that game and the run game never got a chance. Seems like a similar scenario this weekend.
  16. I had an awesome day in Ohio crawling an xcaliber on the bottom. Weighed in 20 lbs for 4 fish and had a 5lber die in the livewell.(tongue hooked) My dad threw everything in the tacklebox and couldnt get a keeper. After moving to TN, my partner got on to a school of bass and was slaying them with a red eye shad. I couldn't buy a bite with the xcaliber and kept trying to force feed them it. After being here 7 years, I've only caught a couple bass on the xcaliber and neither was hooked in the mouth. So it's a red eye shad for me down here.
  17. I have caught a few really nice LMB by dragging my blade bait off of ice into open water. Dont know why but since then I have not discounted the possibility based on personal experience.
  18. Whats interesting is the hybrids that are a cross between florida and northern strains that are being caught. http://nooga.com/164697/twra-reveals-chickamauga-lake-bass-dna-analysis/ These are the giants that are being caught at Chickamauga. Shock studies and tourney testing is showing that only hybrids and backcrosses are being caught and no pure florida strain. So it may be possible that if these hybrids get introduced into northern waters those fish may also grow bigger. In the 2012 lakewide DNA analysis, biologists found 7.8 percent northern bass, 2.3 percent Florida bass, 15 percent hybrids and 75 percent backcross. That means 92 percent of all the bass in Chickamauga Lake carry at least some Florida bass genes. In 2013, when Jolley and his crew collected DNA samples exclusively from bass weighing more than 8 pounds, they found no pure northern bass and no pure Florida bass. However, 75 percent of the big bass were hybrids, and 25 percent were backcross.
  19. The name of the thread is Rate the song above you. Someone posts a song/video and then you rate it and put one of your own so it can be rated. If you look at this thread you are the only person not rating the song above you and posting more than 1 song at a time. This is why I indicated that you did not know how to play the game. I wasn't trying to be malicious. So please, continue to do as you please. 9 I liked the original and this is a excellent cover
  20. Ok, I liked that one 8.5 I'm gonna really throw this thing off track but at least its a fishing song with cameo's from a few elite series guys
  21. I'll backlash or have a "professional overrun" from time to time. Wife gave me a crochet needle and it works better than anything else I've tried at helping get them untangled. Got some cheap ones from walmart and then the kids got me a wood handled one and put it in my stocking one year
  22. Falcons, Jags, Patriots and the Saints
  23. He's holding the guitar upside down!! I'll give it a 9. A few things I've learned from this thread is classic rock is the choice for the majority and that @halochef does not know how to play the game.
  24. When I'm swimming a jig, I like something that is more shad/baitfish like. I really like the bluegill flash and the golden shiner.
