Scouting
Living near lakes that have winter drawdowns of up to 40 feet, I always check online to see where the water levels are at. I also use the TVA site to see how much water they are pulling as that makes a difference as to how the fish set up. One of the sites I use is lakelevels.info, I like that they show the water levels for the past 2 years in a graph. They also show how much of a change there has been since yesterday.

Post a photo a day!
Hahahaha I saw that this is someone the Browns are interested in. We've got 5 picks in the first 2 rounds so I wouldn't be surprised if they traded for him. Knowing the browns we'll trade those picks for a couple used tissues and a dirty rag

Can you swim
Yes, we both got really lucky that day. His boat on the other hand, not so much as it was totaled. We got picked up by Boat US and I became a member ever since.

It's Official...I'm a dumb #@!$
I posted about this on the thread about swimming. I bought an inflatable just to find out the hard way it didn't work and then later it was recalled.

Can you swim
How many people have bought something only to find out you got something defective? This was my experience after buying a Mustang inflatable life jacket for tourney fishing. I was to co angler and the boater ran into a barely submerged rock pile. We both got tossed at about 60 MPH. My boaters Mustang inflatable opened properly mine did not open at all. Luckily, I was able to make it to the boat before he was because he was dazed and panicked. He hit the steering wheel hard on ejection where I was just thrown out cleanly. Mustang issued a recall on the model I purchased. I now always wear a foam life vest when running(using the outboard)

2018 GEICO BASSMASTER CLASSIC
Hard to beat a local thats as good of a stick as Ashley. Especially, if weather comes into play. Also dude has nerves of steel and wont fold under pressure. Hoping for Swindle always liked the guy and after being his marshall a couple of years ago became a bigger fan

Any Thoughts & Ideas On These Catch Rates?
Looking at the stats: you seem to be catching at approx. 71% on average for soft plastics (you list swim baits in 2016 and mention 3in ones but not sure if they are hard or soft bodied) What percentage of time are you spending throwing those soft plastics compared to moving type baits? Most success is in the Ned rig; have you tried the opposite and thrown larger soft plastics like a 10 in worm? Also the fish in that lake wont eat a jig?

Left vs right handed baitcasters
On a side note: I have found that when using a left handed baitcasting reel avoid rods that have the bait keeper on the left side. When pulling line off the reel so the bait falls on slack line the bait keeper has a tendency to catch the line. Especially the open type of bait keeper.

Smallmouth + mixed bag
There were about 6 vehicles in the parking lot when I went by at 7:30am I'm guessing they were fishing the discharge from the steam plant as it was in the teens at that time.

Left vs right handed baitcasters
I'm right handed so I use reels that have the handle on the left. I want to cast with my strong arm and fight with the same as I was taught to fight the fish with the rod not the reel. I started with spinning reels and they had the handle on the left so it seemed natural for me to do the same once I started using baitcasting reels. On the flip side, many pros cast right handed and then switch so they can also reel with their right hand including KVD. Doesn't seem to have affected them too much

What makes one lure retriever better than the others?
I've had a few and I like the ones that have the chains attached. I have had the chains catch the hook after messing with a lure for 10 minutes where the weight wouldn't get it. Prime examples are when you hook old line or someones trot line. I would also recommend having 2 as a few times I've used the lure retriever to retrieve my lure retriever.

Phantom tube jig hook/rigging
I've had to modify a drop shot when I lost my last internal weight. I liked the skinny drop shot weight in the longer tubes as it did not impede with the hookset IMO. I used 2 pairs of needle nose to expand where the line goes to accommodate the hook.
