  1. This is a common opinion.
  2. Any Dobyns 4 power will be more versatile than any 5 power rod for bass fishing.
  3. Are They faster action than fury and Sierra rods?

My favorites: Dynamic Lures J-Spec and now discontinued Travado, x-rap, husky jerk, and deep husky jerk All in silver hollow, perch, or chrome blue back.
  5. Pop-R, Zara Spook, Whopper Plopper.
  6. I use slick 2 in blue 15lb. I tie an FG with 10 and 12lb mono or fluorocarbon without any issues. Great line,
  7. That's because this reel test guy doesn't always give Daiwa reels a fair shot. He's also kind of annoying on top of that.
  8. I was also going to recommend these hooks
  9. I highly recommend the St Croix Legend Walleye 6’6” ML rod. It’s great for lots of light presentations. Excellent Ned rod and small jigs like 3/16 finesse jigs.
  10. I use 8lb high viz PP braid to 8lb fluoro or 6lb mono leader (same diameter line) for ned and drop shot, and 10lb braid to 10lb leader for shakey head for the hook set.
  11. I think the magic of the small size one blade is that it's small and subtle. Same with the stick bait, subtle.
  12. The MBR 843 is a great rod! No need to adjust hook sets with jigs/T rigs. They have a great fast action, with plenty of back bone. Just hit hard like you normally would. They can do everything well though.
  13. Which model did you get?
  14. 901 would be killer, but the 902 would be like your rod but longer if that's what you want. SJR are the jam! My old SJR 721 has such a fantastic taper. I often wish it were 7'.
  15. I hear you. Every situation reflects different circumstances. I don't flip much, more dragging and bouncing through stuff.
  16. Any new insights into that Corzza rod? What other presentations have you been using it for?
  17. Bigger heavier hook, and heavier guard, and some different colors.
  18. I fish braid about 95% of the time, both with and without a leader. I always use a leader around wood, when dragging jigs and t rigs over and through under water trees/lay downs. Here’s my reason. About 5 years ago I was using strait braid with a jig around two downed trees where I could see the bass. As the braid rubbed on the trees it made a noise/vibration on the trees that the bass reacted negatively to by swimming away about 5’ from the rubbing braid. I could see them chasing bait, so I tied on a 15lb leader about 7’. I watched 4 bass attack my jig (that I caught) as the flouro leader didn’t make the vibration on the wood, it just smoothly slid over it. Since that day I always use a leader around wood. I know there are lots of opinions regarding bass being non reactive to line, but I disagree. It may not be a visibility thing but a vibration thing in certain circumstances. there can never be 100% answers, but there will always be opinions.
  19. I’m in the minority. When I use straight fluorocarbon I only use 12lb Seaguar Red Label on casting setups, never have issues .
  20. Ok. Not sure what casting /lure technique you’re using that causes that. You can try a braid to 15-20lb leader which would be a little stiff to prevent any knots near the lure. That’s all I got for you.
  21. Not sure why your braid would knot up throwing any bait. I throw flukes, tiny crankbaits, trickworms, and hard jerkbaits without getting knots.
  22. I sold off 5 rods this winter and bought a Loomis IMX Pro and Bantam combo which brings me to 6 casting combos. It felt good to sell some middle of the road stuff and get really nice gear. My style is now fewer setups that are higher quality, over more run of the mill combos.
  23. I use 3 and 4 power Loomis rods for 3/8oz jigs with 30lb braid to 15-17lb leaders for the same cover you mentioned. I live in the Midwest so the bass aren’t usually over 6lbs, except for 3 so far. Hoping for more. I use 6’6” to 7’1” JWR and MBR versions.
  24. Bitsy Flip or bug and Yum Wooly Bug or Gambler little Otter that’s cut down about 3/8” is a catching machine. I use them all year long. 3/16 and 1/4 oz
  25. how do you get 10% off at TT?
