  1. Agreed,,,,,,,,,,it's a moving bait.........I use a very short leader. Maybe three feet. The knot never comes close to the reel.
  2. I love their crankbaits.....especially the Wake 80. It is a great bait that I often use in place of a buzzbait if vegetation allows. Not a fan of their plastics though.
  3. I wonder if OP will be back...........
  4. I just lowered my transducer under my Bonafide pod with a spacer to see if I was missing some clarity last season. The pod is constructed so that it can pivot up on the front hinge. I am going to screw two eyelets on kayak so that I can lift the front of the pod up and slide a pin in to keep it up high enough to protect the transducer when I launch and land.
  5. I trust Amazon reviews.............. Ummm, not at all...........
  6. I actually just bought a Zillion for the first time but haven't used it so didn't recommend it.
  7. I think most of us think along the lines of what purpose we purchased that particular rod for,,,,,,,,I doubt anyone of us would purchase a heavy rod for finesse presentations that would require a lighter line. So NO, I don't think that's what anyone is saying. Nor would we do something along them lines at some point.
  8. All my jigs are in the same 3700, my terminal is in a Plano Edge 3700 terminal box. My plastics are split between two 3700 boxes..... The Plano Edge Terminal Box has probably been my best storage purchase ever.
  9. A couple jigs, a couple cranks, a spinnerbait, plastics, chatterbait
  10. Me too. Despite bring a bunch of rods my setup is transported ready to go. I get to the water, put the Bixby on the rudder, the rods are stored vertically in the kayak during travel so I put them in the rod holders and off I go. Pull in to the lot, be on the water, 10 minutes or less.
  11. As I think back to when I first started I had two rods and wondered why guys needed more than that. Now I fight to keep it to 6-7! LOL Granted there are a couple setups that I have two of but with different lures on them.
  12. Daiwa Tatula Elite $230 MegaBass Orochi XX Braillist or Tour Versatile $300 Total $530, well within your budget. Or get two Tatula Elite's and both a Braillist for jigs and Versatile for T-tigs. Hmmm, sounds familiar to what's on my yak with me at all times.
  13. If at all possible I'd avoid using the same rod for smaller sized treble bait hooks and a single hook chatterbait. That being said when I first started this kayak thing a few years back and brought three rods, they were all MH/Fast and I still caught fish. Maybe you could go with a MH/Mod or Mod/Fast
  14. I have 10 rod holders on my BlackPack but the most I've ever taken out was eight. I usually bring 6-7 depending on where I'm going. If I've never been to that particular water and it's a tourney is when I bring 8. What rods comprise my arsenal for the day also depends on where I'm going.
  15. Not yellow but I do like to have some chartreuse in most of my presentations.
  16. I hope not, mine is in the garage 365 days a year, in northern Illinois so anywhere from around zero to 120 degrees. LOL
  17. I was about to chime in by my price point is the Orochi XX's. LOL
  18. I used to work with a woman who said she didn't ever want kids, she said there's a reason wild animals ate their young. She has two kids now and hasn't eaten either one of them.
  19. I fish jigs a lot, more than t-rigs....often I change the rate of fall by changing the trailer.
  20. I have 13 setups. I fish from a kayak and could bring 10. I usually bring 6-8. What I bring depends on where I'm fishing and the times I bring 8 is usually when it's new water and I have no clue what it'll look like when I get there.
  21. The answers to a lot of questions such at these by scaleface need to be taken into account before anyone can give you meaningful suggestions.
  22. This right here!
  23. Any shad derivative, and something with reflective flash.
  24. Actually the opposite. When I find what I like I generally have it in two colors. Two of each color for when I lose one......lol So a given lure I usually have four of.
